I believe the league is focusing too much on size. There were no high ranked d-man left for Sabres to select and with a player ranked #5 by elite prospects falls to you at #13 you got to go skill over size or position.
He was in so many top tens, but some off the board selections let him fall. Oozes talent and attitude. Great pick. 🎉
People thought this kid would be top 5 and we got him at 13? That's sweet
