[Drance] “I don’t want to overspend, I want to use my money wisely,” says Patrik Allvin of his approach to July 1. Notes that trades have been hard to make and July 1 (free agency) is the “more realistic” path for the club to find a third-line centre, upgrade their blue line.

    Dear god.😭

I feel like the trade market would be better no? Guys like Kevin Hayes and Ryan Johansen went at 50% retained for nothing. I feel like we could get a guy like Dvorak at 50% for a late pick or something

Welcome to Vancouver, Carson Soucy and Ian Cole.

I don’t hate picking up a guy like Bjugstad in FA if the price is right

    edit: okay hear me out:
bring in Bjugstad, Soucy, and Cal Foote? While bugging Boston to see if they can steal Grzelcyk for not much?

KEVIN HAYES AT $3.5m WAS JUST ACQUIRED FOR A 6th ROUND PICK!!!! HOLY SMOKES PATRIK! FIGURE IT OUT!

Calm down everyone, when does PA ever tell the truth about his intentions

    HAHAHAHAAHAHAHH…

“Pay us, take 50% of his salary and we’ll take Connor Garland”

When Taylor Hall goes for free and Hayes goes at 50% for a 3rd… you know that Garland ain’t worth Jack.

Let’s hope that teams strike out in Free Agency and simply offer to take the whole contract.

Free agents are the best way to over spend.

I wish he used the cap wisely last season and opted not to sign Mikheyev. I love the player, but with our winger situation signing him was not wise. That could have made moving cap this summer easier. Teams seen how desperate we were to move cap and likely leveraged it against us. Which forced us into a near decade long buyout.

I hope we can snag Bjugstad or Graves and after that do nothing other than try dump cap. We have like 7mil in cap. We aren’t filling the holes we have this summer without moving Garland and maybe one of Beauvillier or Boeser. Boeser the Canucks said they are interested in keeping but that could just be them trying not to look desperate.

He will overpay someone I guarantee it

    Massive Benning vibes

    Signing FA = overpaying

Jesus people. Guy says he won’t trade this pick. Doesn’t. Drafts a great prospect that we likely will love for a decade and could also flip and retain value if we don’t have a fit for him in a few years. Gets screamed at for not drafting Benson who arguably doesn’t fit this team.

Guy says he wants to spend wisely, not just spend for the sake of spending. What’s wrong with that? I’m glad he didn’t free up cap space just to blow the load one one player or use it to take on a garbage contract and only get a 3rd round pick out of it.

Can we please let this management group build a shit team into a decent team one step at a time? Was anyone shitting on Benning year two of his contract?

not sure why he thinks he’s going to use money more wisely on july 1st. free agents always overpaid, better off paying for salary dumps with retention.

Serious question. How far away is Linus Karlsson from taking over at 3c? 25 goal 50 point AHL rookie season is pretty solid!

  15. Alpacaduck

“We don’t intend to use buyouts.”

“We intend to draft the best player available.”

    “I don’t want to overspend.”

    Just keeps on keeping on.

  16. GleekLove99

I know people keep thinking this class of FA’s will be over paid, but like no one has cap space. Motte had a career year with us last year and had to wait until late September to find a team.

  17. 21marvel1

Blueger/Soucy/Cole and we trade Garland and call it a day

  18. thethirdgreenman

That’s the right stance, but I also remember when he said they didn’t plan on using buyouts a few months ago. I’ll believe it when I see it, respectfully

If I were gm I would try to peruse graves and compher but there’s another reason I’m not gm😂
