  1. One thing that impressed me was that the kids picked by San Jose & Buffalo (Smith & Barlow) both looked like they were about 10 years old. Are kids younger looking nowadays or am I just getting old. Also, may be coincidence, but I noticed none of the Canadian teams drafted a US born player. I don't know when was the last time that happened, so I wonder if it'll be a trend. A lot of the pre-draft speculation had Montreal taking Will Smith, but they didn't get the chance, so we didn't get to see what would happen.

  2. Great video. What happened to the big trade between Detroit & Ottawa? That was everywhere. Now it's nowhere. Where were all those draft pick trades? I like the two Red Wings picks. Good depth. And I was hoping they'd take a defensemen with one of their picks in the first round.

  3. Glad we picked a C as #9 which has a high ceiling.
Gives Nate's & Kasper competition for many years to come who is our 2C, love it.

ASP as #17 is our future QB in PP, he will replace and relieve MO and will boost our special teams. #LGRW

  4. I don't care if it an unpopular opinion I still feel like the hawks should have had to give up the first overall pick! Teams have lost there first rounders for way less. Clearly, the nhl cares more about contracts signed than players being sexually abused. Again, just my opinion as a father

  5. Holy shit Sherlock, coach your blowing a gasket, no one is calling out Reinbacher , it's Hughes their angry about, and deservedly so , so it's OK for you to raise your voice, pointing your finger, shouting telling how fans how to feel about this , your so opinionated and think your gotta be right, , for a Forward loaded, and they draft a RD , why? They could've picked another forward other than Michkov and I think the fans would've be OK,
Hughes could've waited until even next year for a RD , they have 2024 1st rounders , I'm OK with Reinbacher , but I think they missed a great opportunity to add a good forward , that's what fans are upset about , it's a shame you acted the way you did , man I wouldn't want to cross you, your a scary person when you angry šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

  6. Atrocious picks by Arizona this time as I found the players they took last year much better. Simashev is not close to a #6 talent. His production was crap in Russia. But is an okay player but taking him over higher production guys like Wood or Benson is not defensible.

  7. Simashev looked pretty shocked and kinda upset at first. Glad he's at least gonna be with fellow Russian But down there. That was a great 2nd pick for AZ.

  8. Would have loved Perrault or Musty at 20 for my Kraken, but I don't mind the Sale pick. They definitely need some pop on the Wings.

  9. As a Wild fan, I donā€™t mind picking Stramel I just you could have gotten him day two. (Also Blackhawks if you corrupt Oliver Moore I am coming for you!)

  10. Iā€™m seeing Danil But listed as LW on eliteprospects. Coyotes drafted 1D and 1F, not 2D

  11. Last year at the draft, my Habs could've been called the Montreal Slovakians. This year, they turn to Austria.

The young, international experiment continues; but what about the goaltending?!

  12. I'm excited about Dvorsky, but I was ready to sacrifice a goat to make Leonard drop to the Blues. Also, screw Chicago. That is all.

  13. Okay folks! In lieu of yesterday's draft selections, which team ends its playoff drought first, Buffalo or Detroit?

  14. super happy to see Calum Ritchie get drafted by the Avs, my hometown team to my NHL team and believe its the 1st General to be drafted by Colorado/Quebec since La Bebe Eric Lindros pick

  15. Hmmm, one thing I noticed from the first round selections: No Finnish-born players. What's up with that?

  16. Canucks have a lot of forwards and a legit goalie corps. Vancouver should be looking at nothing but DMen in the draft, in free agency, and via trades. They are not a legit contender so they can afford to let young DMen develop.

  17. I was hoping the Pens would pick up a winger or defenseman. Didnā€™t expect Wood or Barlow to be available for them. Surprised that the Pens passed on both. Barlow is supposed to be ready for the NHL. Wood is 6ā€™ 4 and skilled. ASP was a potential Letang.

Hoping Yager surpasses them both but I was expecting a different pick.

Interesting that not one goalie was picked in the first round. Hoping the Pens manage to get a good goalie in the later rounds

  18. As a leafs fan most in the fanbase are already hating on the pick and calling for the GMs head. Because of course they are, I hate my own fanbase sometimes šŸ¤£

  19. Surprised that Reinbacher was picked by the Habs. They have many D prospects. Some say Reinbacher will be paired with Lane Hutson. Watch for some of the D prospects to be showcased this year for trade purposes to load up on big forwards who have already proven to have NHL talent. That would keep the rebuild on schedule.

  20. A lot of Blues fans expected them to trade at least one of those late first rounders. I am personally glad they kept all three of them. I donā€™t think the Blues are a move or two away from contending next year and Iā€™d rather see them load up the prospect pool

  21. What a first round. Fantilli dropping to Colombus and Reinbacher going 5 was pretty crazy. I'm excited about my Sharks and their 2 picks. I dont have any concerns about Will Smith but hoping Musty pans out.

  22. If youā€™re drafting for the kind of player with a game capable of success in the playoffs, then to me Colby Barlow is a no brainer. Winnipeg getting him that late will prove to be the steal of this draft when itā€™s all said and done. Watching those kids come up on the stage, was there one who looked more physically ready to step into the NHL right now than Colby?

If youā€™re drafting just to try and eventually get in the playoffs; just to get knocked around once youā€™re there, then you only select skilled softies in round 1; the way Vancouver seemingly always does. Youā€™d think they would have learned from completely bungling the Tkachuk situation, and taking a vanilla defence man instead. Willander isnā€™t big, he isnā€™t fast, he isnā€™t offensive, and he isnā€™t a shutdown guy. He just does everything ā€œwellā€. This totally reminds me of the Juliolevi wasted pick. Alvin is trying to sell this as being the best player available. Iā€™m not even sure he took the best Swede available.

    On a side note:
The lack of Canadians on the Canucks roster, and in their prospect pool is almost embarrassing at this point. Itā€™s not like thereā€™s no historical evidence that the playoff teams featuring the most Canadians on their rosters generally go the deepest. How many times is this team going to miss out on drafting quality players from their own back yard?

  23. I just lost my mind….Anaheim picked Leo Carlsson over Adam Fantilli…(?)….this is BS.
They had a terrific center and did not pick him….I swear if Carlsson do not deliver here I will despise the Anaheim GM for life.

  24. I have to apologize! I normally watch your first round stream but got so upset with Wollander that I signed out

  25. Easton Cowan is a legitimately good first round pick. Coming out of an NHL style 2-way system on the London Knights, he'll get to the NHL fairly quickly and be a contributor once he gets there.

  26. Really happy pens got Yager. Hope they keep him for the future! And he will now be known as Jager šŸ˜‚

  27. I'm officially on the Mike Grier train. His picks in the first 3 rounds were fantastic. I wish we could've snuck Perreault, but Musty should be a beast.

  28. Unfortunately for any team that drafted any Russian players if they wind up on a flight back home they wonā€™t be back for a few years if ever.
