The Pittsburgh Steelers were predicted to sign linebacker Rashaan Evans by Pro Football Focus (PFF) as a move by Omar Khan to complete the roster. Chris Carter and Cale Berger debate about him and other options to fill on the Steelers’ roster between Kwon Alexander, Deion Jones and Isaiah Simmons.
Also, the guys debate where T.J. Watt ranks, not among other edge rushers, but among other Pittsburgh athletes since he was drafted by Pittsburgh in 2017. That puts him up against other Steelers like Cam Heyward, Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown, but also Pittsburgh Penguins legends like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
Finally, Cale gives his predictions on the Steelers season in their hopes for the playoffs, chances in the AFC North, and how many wins they should be expected to finish with in 2023.

Here we go Steelers! Let's get into it!
The Arizona Cardinals didn’t do Isaiah Simmons any favors, moving him all around the defense. If the Steelers trade for him, and keep him at off-ball linebacker, he will thrive. What the Cardinals wanted out of Simmons was a savior in a Superman Suit….and those guys are real rare.
I am hoping they play better than the simulation looking for growth MC has no more excuses too many weapons to fail CAlll and JW more…10-7 or better Go Steelers
This would be something they would have had to address even if shazier had not got hurt. He would 31 going into his 10th season. So this position would naturally have been a postion they would have address.
hi chris im canadian love to hear you were a lemieux fan I was lucky enough to be sitting behind the russian net when he scored the winning goal on a pass from gretzky to win the canada cup what a great memory I believe if he stayed healthy he would have more points than gretzky. go steelers
this D is going to be hurtsville cant wait to see them pound the ravens into submission
everything cale says is correct how do they get so much disrespect
the bengles ha they had their chance and missed kenny proved his mettle last year he is Mr pressure if they stay healthy they win the division
we are stacked everyone is picking them for 3rd you wait till you see kenny in these division games he is IT this division is in for a very very rude awakening cant wait
The reason the patriots didnt make the playoffs in 08 was because all 5 of their losses came to teams who were in the playoffs I really wish people would put the context on that. They lost all the tiebreakers and didnt win their division.
Pff is a joke! #HEREWEGO
Why do they say they only have 2 run stuffers, Holcomb, Robinson, and Roberts are all run oriented backers.
Are we just forgetting Ben's 2 Super Bowl wins? The fact he holds every Steelers record for QB's? Until TJ gets us another ring, he's number three. Sheesh.
nah steelers beating jags
floor 13 wins ceiling 20 wins
Kevin green
Can't argue against TJ but to suggest Ben for this period and ignore Minkah is not right.
Holcomb is a stud.
They had a good draft but I can't believe they didn't draft a lineback
I do like the inside linebackers they brought in Robert's and Holcomb are both tackling machines.
Please do not give up any draft picks. As the Steelers have proven every round pick could be a star. Unless it's a Jerome Bettis quality, keep the picks.
Terry, Joe, Franco…
#1 Clemente/Mazeroski all time. How quickly we forget. In fact, just like the Steelers are Pittsburgh team, all of our players on all our teams are co #1. We have love for all.
Rashaan Evans was 1st round 22nd overall
Big ben struggler??? You overlooking his final numbers ranking him with NFL's all time best. His mistakes or lack of playoff success gets way too much mention. Call me a homer, but how about including the many times Ben snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat? Ben has 3rd most 4th comebacks all time. Or how many times Ben extended plays with pump fakes and/or breaking tackles like no other QB. It's like… talking about Hines Ward and then failing to recognize his tremendous prowess as a blocker. To talk Ben down as "mediocre" when he's one of thee very best Steelers all time is irritating.
Toby Ndukwe & David Perales; BOTH 250 LB's. 6'3" LB's are on roster now… It will be interesting to see if either develop into a Robert Spillane. Spillane took two NFL seasons developing before he surprised us with that PICK 6 against Lamar Jackson, solidifying Robert as starter level LB. All #3 (Robert Spillane, Toby Ndukwe & David Perales) were UDFAs beginning an NFL career.
THAT JAX game will be the TELL ALL. W v JAX; then PIT can win playoff games. Lose v JAX.. Zero playoff wins.
Sign ilb rueben foster immediately afte usfl championship game. Btw. Platt would love to b a guest too cris
I think the problem is that you have to get LBs in a soon as possible to learn the scheme. It’s not an easy system to learn. One of the problem with our lack of success lately with the LBs is that they would need 2 season to fully understand it. Can’t bring in LBs June and July.
Chris I think we will be 13-4 with all the additions I think they are going all in for Cam!
However Simmons would be nice!
I completely disagree with this TJ over Big Ben…First Ben gave us hope 98% of the time he played..Are you Crazy…TJ ain't gave us hope of winning a Superbowl…TJ didnt change the Steelers like Ben did NO…From day 1 Ben changed our chances…Yes we love TJ but he doesn't play a position that gives him the number 2 spot…Are you crazy…Also defensive Player of the year is a individual accomplishment…Our Defensive in TJs D-Player of the year when the D wasn't as good the D last year…Our ranking last year was based on the secondary…I see far more Big Ben Jersey's then TJs…Yes, TJ is a fabulous player but to say He more a Hero then Ben…Is absolutely crazy…Also Ben played in An era of QBs that were mostly HOFs..Brady, Manning, Favre, Rodgers, Breeze, Rivers.. In My opinion is the best era of QBs and Ben played in More Superbowls then most of them…Ben is SUPER LEGENDARY..Get it right…There's no AB or Bell without Ben..I love TJ but over Ben…Ben is in the Top 7 Steelers of all times..Greene, Bradshaw, Harris, Ben and Polamlu..PERIOD !!! …side note: Debo Jame Harrison is a foke Hero around these parts and He won Defensive Player of the Year…Just a thought…😁😁
Yes, LB is a weakness on the roster today, and although I respect the guys here, and agree ideally you want the guy that can do it all at a high level, for 2023, we need to stuff the run and trust TJ & co to pressure QB's while the back half of the D destroys routes.
Pittsburgh sports greats Mt Rushmore? Are you kidding? Well to begin with, we're gonna need a whole mountain range.
Roberto & Chicken on the Hill Will, Doc & his acid embued No Hitter, and toss in Bob Prince while we're at it. Maz, Manny, I mean just the Pirates could fill one side of that range. Pretty much the entire Steeler class thru the 70's, and too many to list from there to here. Super Marion & Syd are aliens who just happened to grace us, and on and on. And speaking of aliens, I mean where else in any universe does a Myron Cope even get on the air, much less become such a beloved personality?
Left the 'burgh back in the 80's, but we still take our kids and grandkids to Kennywood, the museums, and of course a trip to Latrobe. Hard to excise that part of your soul once you've been a part of yinz.
A lot of times, the Steelers will run a 3-3-5. If Holcomb is your 3 down Green dot guy, then you should see these 3 guys out of 2 positions ILB/SS rotation depending on the situation.
ILB ELANDON ROBERTS
SS KEANU NEAL
S/NB DOMONTAE KAZEE
I know you're talking TJ but Minkah won that Cincy game not TJ.
Cale with a C I love your thoughts on the Steelers projection 12-5 was and is my prediction of the season as well.
I don't agree that everyone loves Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh. A lot of people do, but I don't like the guy at all. He was an absolute jerk in public for most of his career. I would say he was a top 5-6 talent from 2005 to 2012. He was maybe the 9th or 10th best QB from 2013 to 2019, and after that he was average to below average. Crosby is #1 and Watt is #2. I will give you a bold prediction though, KP8 will be #1 if not after this year, in the next three years. I think a lot of people are grossly underestimating him. He will be arguably the best QB in the NFL.
