The only thing I can think of is this came with a significant pay raise to prevent him from being poached by another team cause otherwise this seems very out of left field
The man is 66 years old and has been doing this for 35 years, wouldn’t be too surprised if he just wanted a change of pace. I’m grateful for everything he’s done for this organization no matter what.
