Pat Maroon dangerous trip on Connor McDavid – Tough Call Suspension Recommendation

Pat Maroon performs the first of two “dangerous trips” in this game. He was only called for the original hook and this play went unpenalized.

  1. NHL should really invest in some better cameras with higher framerate, sure TV's are 30fps but it makes it soooo much easier to clearly see what is happening slowed down if it is filmed in 120+ fps

  2. It's a shame that the refs saw it clearly yet felt that everything after the initial hooking was OK. They keep managing the game instead of officiating the game. The refs think that they are the directors of the show and want to create drama and excitement instead of officiating by the rules. Mario put it best when he said that the NHL is a garbage league.

  3. The only way stuff like this is suppressed is by giving a second penalty on the play, or by secondary suspension after the fact. It's not like McDavid did something to him earlier. A clear example of a goon targeting a star player.

  4. Two minutes for tripping, ten minutes for being the only AHL player to have his name on the cup

  5. Absolutely should be a suspension for every reason you entailed. I want to watch hockey, not cheaters winning because refs don't call them.

  6. It’s a fast game. Slowing it down frame by frame does nothing…

  7. All of you are overreacting over this like how many times has Marchand done this in his career where he has either submarined or slew footed someone

  8. It's called a slew foot. And yes it's dirty. But nobody says much when Bos B Marchant does it over and over again

  9. Should’ve got a match penalty, and reviewed by the league commissioner for future punishment.
