  1. You didn't say anything about the coach's role in nurturing a culture of team cohesion, player accountability, and camaraderie. It's more than tactics and coach-player relationships. It's about building a winning culture. That includes players caring about their teammates, and protecting them from harm when necessary. That includes "heart" and not being "soft". That includes always putting forth effort, and never being seen as coasting and puck-watching. These intangibles have always been a Leafs weakness.

  2. Love the Cowan take..agreed.. why not pick a guy who preformed in the playoffs and wants to be a Leaf!
Always the best Leaf content..bar none..thx

  3. Re: firing Keefe, I really don't understand this "buying time" idea. "Treliving only has so many bullets in the chamber," etc. Yes, Keefe will get the Leafs to the playoffs. But he will also, almost certainly, get out-coached in whatever first (and/or second) round series they get bounced from. Which means: yet another year of not winning the Stanley Cup, which should be the only goal here. This isn't "buying time." This amounts to "wasting yet another year." Sheldon Keefe has had more than enough time to show what kind of coach he can be & what he can do with this Core Four concept. He's proven over and over again (against Columbus, Montreal, Tampa Bay, and Florida) that he's unable to get the most out of these players. If the players aren't going to change, then Keefe should've been gone. It was the easiest thing to do this year to at least give the team a chance for a different narrative (and different results). Laviolette would have been a good choice as a replacement. Gerrard Gallant could also have provided a fresh perspective and, even if a lot of younger fans don't want to hear it, Joel Quenneville deserves to be considered for another chance (although, understandably, Toronto is probably not the right market for that). But bringing Keefe back is probably the worst thing Shanahan/Treliving could've done, because it proves to the fans that winning the Stanley Cup is not their top priority.

  4. Don’t worry Anthony those who know hockey like you, and Kyper, and like you a lot! We wouldn’t be here listening as much as I do if we didn’t.

  5. Players run roughshod over Leafs coaching/management. As Myrtle stated in a podcast, Leafs (aka Dubas) messed up royally with the term on AM/MM contracts. So here we are again. Today's the last day to have a deal in place or risk losing one or both.
Word is AM "May" sign again for another shorter term while being the highest paid player in the league. Number starts with 14. This is simply unacceptable for players to have this kind of power. The only way to sign Matthews is for max term so the TEAM can find value later in the contract once the cap rises. But no, not how Leafs operate. They'll overpay yet again with shorter term. Very likely no more than 4 or 5 years where there's little TEAM value to be had. Get ready to go through this again with Marner as it doesn't seem Treliving finds that file to be particularly open to work on. Then there's Nylander. Word is he may want in the high 9's or possibly double digits. On the free market someone will give it to him. If the Leafs do, then we are getting much of the same for the forseeable future. An adequate regular season team with no money left to balance out the roster effectively. There's just no way this can go on. This is NO way to run a business.

  6. lol apparently im pretty hated by leaf fans according to nick alberga and rosey thinks im a great heel, when it comes to keefe coaching lets be honest you 2 could of coached this team, babcock had this team to 105 almost out of training camp and going toe2toe with teams like boston , to losing to the bluejackets , habs

  7. It's got nothing to do with treleving. Nothing to do with Kyle Dubas. It's the shanaplan. He runs the show. He is the problem . He has no idea what hes doing. He never has. Bonehead

  8. My issue is not with the player. I just think they could've moved down and picked up another pick. And still got their guy. Its just better asset management. Also when they go that far off the boar, they have to make a statement as to why. To calm the fanbase. I also found it interesting that Wes Clark is facing the media taking questions after the draft.

  9. Im not watching this shit team this year. Im done. The fact theyre bringing everyone bsck is pathetic. When they lose this year again hopefully finally they will change something. But this team cant win. Said it now for 3 years. IM OUT! GO CANUCKS GO!!!

  10. You contradict yourselves constantly on this show. Go back to last show and listen to you guys. You two idiots are delusional. The fact you think this shit team is gonna do ANYTHING DIFFERENT NEXT YEAR IS LAUGHABLE. I cant fuckin wait to get rid of this core

  11. Montreal will love the pick. Huge d-man that shoots right. Gee I wonder if there is a place for him. The Leafs on the other hand, seems lacking. I believe that trading Marner will solve a lot of problems. Buffalo seems loaded with what Toronto requires. Think Savoy…

  12. Habs fan. So relieved that they didn’t take the Russian. Call me Don Cherry; but the Habs have had rotten luck with Russians. The best Defenceman in the draft. Why not?

  13. Slaf will make you eat your words… just like the Habs do to you over and over and over again. You’ll NEVER learn.

  14. Actually I like wearing glasses – used to it, and a bit of eye protection as a bonus. Very stylish these days.

  15. Looks like Treliving has already f*ucked up the Nylander deal. This entire situation might go south in a hurry based on his history with negotiations with players.

  16. Running it back with even less depth than the team that showed it can't go deep in the playoffs. Get ready for many more years of heartbreak boys.
