Love it. His previous deal was dirt cheap, this is still good value not giving anything away on term. 2.4M acceptable for a 3rd line and PK guy and Fast still can play up in the lineup if needed. He seems happy here, he came up huge in these playoffs, yay quickie

This makes me happy. I’m going to Sweden in November for the NHL Global Series to watch the Red Wings play. I grew up a Red Wings fan before moving to NC 18 years ago, and still follow them although as my 2nd team these days.
Anyway, I was really hoping we’d re-sign Fast not only because I like him and wanted him to stay, but also so that while I am there I can look for and buy a Fast jersey from his time in the SEL.
