The dust had settled for the season

The athletic seems to think that this is where we’ll stand for the season. Agree?

Unless one of the D waives their NTC, I can see it.

    Maybe a small FA acquisition.

But the biggest need: playing together as a 5 man unit

I think because of Sunny Ds recent injury history. We could possibly see him signed to a Sammy blais type deal. And they could get a rotation of him going with Alexandrov and another winger where when sunny d and Alexandrov are in the lineup, they bounce schenn out to a wing. Gives them a chance to get the young guy 50 games, sunny d brings a masssive line if it’s him blais and torps, and someone can get some breaks if we need it.

Wouldn’t mind seeing another move or two, but I’m okay with it as is. I don’t have playoff expectations this season, so ride out this year, let young guys keep developing, and eat one more year off bad contracts so they’re easier to move next year. Make the big moves next summer and get ready to compete again. This FA market seriously sucks anyway.

And they said the same thing the year we won the cup.

No one wants these shitty NTC clauses and salaries. We don’t even want them.

  6. It’s going to be rough. We’ve inarguably gotten worse talent-wise, and lost leadership/respected veterans from a team that seemed lost on the ice already.

If Kyrou and Thomas can fill some voids and Binnington can play at a good level consistently then maybe it’ll be interesting. If not, oof.

  7. Inner circles claim that Sunny has a 1 year offer on the table from the Blues but he wants to shop the market for a multi year deal first. I think we’ll see Sundqvist as a Blue by July 4th.

Meh, fine with it I guess. One more year to let the young guys develop, and get Mike Weber in to work with the D. There is a fantastic article on The Athletic about him and it has me pretty excited to see what he can do.
