Signing Yammo for $1mil would be a great signing. Do a 1 year deal and we know for sure he’d be good value and he gets a chance to win a cup. This is a no brainer since he’d fit in the bottom 6 and if we have an injury to a top 6 him and Janny would both be available. Can task for much more durability in your top 6 than that?
Happy for Jammer. He accepted being a cap casualty early last year when he was parked in the AHL for some time and when he could come up he did and did well. This was a pay cut (and not a totally trivial one, 250K drop is 20% of the original or 25% of the current) but he saw the writing on the wall and all the others that were being dumped and he knew he liked Edmonton (per his interview on Oilers Now (he's in Sweden right now training)). A lot of unqualified folks out there including some really skilled players BUT will they take what we can afford for a year. Great vid as always. Take care all.
Nice to resign Janmark, good player. But losing Kostin was really really stupid. wow… this team as it is now, is trending down. Pull some rabbits Ken or this is looking bad. Holland Going to trade away more 1st and 2nds to get people as good as the Goalie they let go for nothing and Kostin? Red wings were smart enough to go get Kostin, and Oil gave him away for nothing. This is not good at all. wow…
It will be awesome to have Michael McLeod coming to the Oilers. He is an effective FO man for the past 3 seasons. He will slot nicely in the 3rd line C and Ryan can move to LW or 4C.
Oilers better add some size and toghness ..etc. Simmonds,Reaves or will never push through playoffs.and I wish they would sign Gudas or luke Schenn to get some mean on back end Oiler D is too soft IMO
Should have spent the money on Kostin and let McLeod sign an offer sheet. McLeod had the exact same output and injury time as Yamamoto, so what's he really worth.
Classic! Trade the Contract, not the player. Remember, ARBITRATION ruled Yams and Jesse were 3 Million dollar players, coming off career years getting top 6 looks. If the oil can land Yams for 3 years at 1.4 … YIPPEE! I figure that if the oilers sign Yams at under 1.7 for more than 2 years, Holland will have to cough up a 5th pick or two to Detroit. And if Detroit signs the russian for under 2 … they cough up a pick.
Yanmark signing is a good deal. Yamo being bought out was not expected . It’s good there are other options if Brown isn’t landed. A second McLeod would be a nice addition who is good in the face off dot.

I like janmark, he was a huge part of our penalty kill, He scored when the team needed him to, I think the contract is an absolute steal
