  1. Matt Duchene… wonder if we try to bring him back.

I know we are kind of pissed with the way he went out but he’s… kind of what we need currently.

I would take Duchene back on a short term deal

Edit: hadn’t realized he severed a finger on his shooting hand. That would give me pause for sure.

As glad as I am we didn’t offer him a contract considering Nashville gave him an utterly bonkers deal, I really wouldn’t mind bringing him back on either a short term deal or a very reasonably priced one. He liked it here, we could still use some help at C, seems win win to me.

Duchene, on a 2-3 year deal at 4 million aav, would be a really good fit for us as a bridge to Fantilli and eventually a middle 6 role. He’s going to have a lot of options potentially from true contenders, so we’d likely have to pay him more.

I like our bottom six forwards so no to Yamamoto even though I like him. Reilly can go fuck himself. Wheeler might be cooked and that’s a shame. He was really good but hardly talked about for a long time. Hell yeah to Duchene at the right price for a year or two but I would think he’ll chase a cup and I don’t blame him.

Duchene would be a fantastic pick up for the right price

It was smart to not give him that contract when was here, herego the buyout. It would be smart to get him on a discount now if possible given the direction Jarmos decided to go with the roster
