I was born and raised and still live 20 mins from the track and had the opportunity to go to this race but had to work. I've been going to the track since I was 6 back in 1994 and besides the deaths to some drivers this was one of the worst wrecks at Daytona. I remember watching this live I went from holler at the TV cause Jr won and was so stoked and within seconds being in complete shock thinking we had just lost another driver
Wow, the way both the barrier and the car shed momentum while maintaining the driver shell integrity was wild. I hope NASCAR can maintain this level of safety for 2023.
Just going back to this and noticing in 2015 Ty Dillon (Austin's brother) raced for Geico which was the first crew to Austin. This community will forever be amazing
Imagine if the car was reversed and it landed in the fence on its roof.. That coulda been a whole lot worse. I don't like Austin but I'm glad he was okay

So Nobody’s Talking About 11 Like is 11 ok And everyone else but this is insane No injuries wow
Soccer players after someone breaths in their general detection: dies
Nascar drivers walking out of a burning car thats torn in half: acts like thing happend
What a miracle!
with the fence destroyed like that did they abandon the race?
I bet Austin is dead when he flew in the catchfence
Guanyu Zhou's shunt in Silverstone brought me here.
I remember watching this live. This made me not wanna race anymore

that was seven years ago?
felt like yesterday
Camera man came pretty close to being hit with shrapnel
Just barely missed that camera guy.
What crazy is they have Austin Dillon care from this accident at bass pro in Springfield mo I went and saw it
Think it's awesome he tipped his hat to a real cowboy . Lane Frost
Without that catch fence a lot of people probably would have been injured or killed
Tony Stewart had the best view. Austin was directly above Stewart at moment of impact.
The luck that that Camara man and security guard had to have that car hit right in between them
And now the next gen would have killed him

i love how that whole car is destoryed other than the cockpit
Remember, 20 years ago if a crash at that magnitude happened, multiplied people would’ve died
The fence did its job
Only legends remember this crash
imagine being Dale Jr and seeing this happen behind you

Now you can see some wreck footage at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield Missouri. I have seen it many times.
The frontstraight
Imagine sitting right in front of the fence in the spot where he hit
I love the Lane Frost Wave
This is why i like nascar more than fomula 1. The crash are brutal and positions change like stock market. In F1 someone can hold the lead forever
So much glorious brunt was taken!
“Euuuurggghh, I hope my body can take it!”
Were any spectators hurt?! 😮
Imagine if that fence hadn't been there 🙈
Cars 2006 ? 😂
Late Night Coke Zero 400
2:57 butthole pucker
Would be some dead fans if it wasn't for that catch fence.
