The Ottawa Senators have addressed their need in goal by signing former LA Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets netminder Joonas Korpisalo to a 5-year contract with an average annual value of $4 million. That Talbot move really stings and it is no telling how bad its going to sting either! Gus the bus is a gamer and I am so glad that the Wild played the Fluer instead of Gus as it gave my Stars the chance they needed to exploit that series. The Sens the last two off-season's have really blown their proverbial loads with deals that havent worked and werent going to work when the deal was made. The DiBrincat move, Talbot move etc
Other teams don’t wanna pay $8.5m x 8 years . Interesting. Wouldn’t it be funny if he settles for Ottawa ? Would we want him settling ?
I'm optimistic, this is different than Murray and Talbot. Murray was already injury prone, and that is unfortunate because he would have been a great goaltender for the Sens if he wasn't. Talbot was more a surprise, because I don't remember him getting injuries, so it was unlucky since he is also a quality goaltender. Dorion has picked up good goaltenders, but he gave up cap space and assets for them that didn't make sense given where the team was at, but its a hard position to predict, so hopefully this lucky goaltender #3!

The term is a little long but AAV at 4mil is worth a shot for this guy! Plus that 4mil will seem small if/when the cap goes up. Good signing!

5 years is a very long time
Like the deal. Hopeful for some puck luck and injury luck this season. You mentioned GMPD has swung and missed twice on goalies (might add a 3rd with Condin), but I wonder how much that has to do with insufficient support on the hockey ops side of things, in particular the pro scouting of goalies.
