Improved our offensive group, I do like the bottom 6 more and do think Sheary will do just fine for what money we had as the 6th best guy in the top 6.

The only thing that scares me is our back half of the defence which if we pair correctly can be acceptable enough as lots of teams are weaker in other areas (Canes d is amazing, offence not as much, leaf’s are similar, bruins worse, panthers are average in my opinion) and if Cooper will be willing to play Johansson enough. He needs to play minimum 25 games.

    I feel good about our Top 9 F and Top 4 D.

  3. RadTek88

That backup makes me very nervous, but I’d love to be wrong.

To early to call for Brisebois firing ?

I been ready since the Jeannot trade

  5. Emergency_Fuel8674

Haven’t seen sheary play, but I think Paul could be on that second line and do great

  6. Bjorn2Kill

Mikey and jeannot HAVE to click. Paul needs to be better too, completely disappeared the last 3/4s of the season it felt like.

All that matter is they have some cap room close to the trade deadline and this team will be improve. Have to trust that the team does well enough to be in playoff position and then add a piece or two later in the season. They have done it every year

Top 4 D are solid if Hedman stays healthy. Can’t wait to see him and Perbix healthy and working together. Raddysh should have a good year and BOGO is a capable 6 who might see some healthy scratches if Thompson or another young gun keep progressing nicely.

I think our team lives and dies by the 3rd line. 3 tough, gritty guys who have something to prove this season. If they click, very similar set up offensively to our back 2 back cup wins with 2 extremely skilled lines at the top, a wear you down 3rd line who can score and a tough 4th line that will control the puck and not give up a lot of goals.

I’ve seen a lot of complaining today but not a lot of suggestions on how JBB couldve done better. Obviously we would all want Killorn still here but he signed for over 6 mil AAV, like we could never go anywhere near that number. We picked up forecheckers that are fast and can PK to cheap contracts, exactly what we needed. I would have like to have added a stay at home LD but there were none available that signed for something we can afford. I just don’t know what everyone expected.

Seems like a solid squad if they can all stay healthy. Still think Bogo needs to go sooner rather than later. Not happy about the Jeannot trade simply due to what was given up and his play after arriving. But I certainly won’t let that small sample size of play define him. Hagel wasn’t exactly anything to rave about after getting traded. He broke out that next season. Looking for the same out of Jeannot here. But one thing that I noticed from the team this past season was how predictable their play was. Easy to read for other teams. They have the talent to thrive but it has to be executed differently.

Feels 1 solid defensive defenseman short. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a forward in Syracuse capable of making the jump if needed. Can always improve at the deadline too if they feel there’s no good options out there, it’s been a light FA class

I was hoping we’d end up with Quick as a backup for Vasy – and given what he signed for in New York and the dude we signed being a virtual unknown for barely anything less, i’m trepidatious about that.

I remember Rudy balcers being on opening day lineup are we gonna try and put him in again? He got hurt pretty good and stayed in ahl I think.

  14. Mr44downs

I think I’d like to see Paul in the top 6 in Sheary’s place to show off his goal scoring ability again. I almost think splitting up him and Jeannot would work better since they have similar skill sets. Also love having Hagel on the first line!

  15. Cautiously optimistic. While we passed on some bigger names that were affordable when it comes to forwards we did address our biggest problem. We got faster. We needed that so badly. Our first 2 lines should be more or less the same in quality while 3-4 look to be decently improved. I feel pretty confident about that. Where I’m a tad nervous is with the defense and goaltending. I look at the names listed there are I don’t dislike any of them I just think we could’ve signed someone to get more depth. I believe Perbix and Raddysh will continue to improve but now we are banking on that along with Bogo stepping it up or someone from Syracuse like Thompson being ready to go. With goaltending we are rolling with someone that had a decent year last year but generally has been unimpressive as our new backup. I’m sure they see something in him and I hope they are right. A lot of these choices were made based on the cap situation we’re in + what it’ll look like in the future. It should (hopefully) get easier to deal with the cap soon. Either way this is what we got and if everything clicks together it could be a fantastic year. Worst case is probably similar to last year which I can live with even if it’d be disappointing. Just enjoy the ride. You’ll miss it when its over

The flat cap fucked us over more any team. Would have sucked really bad if we haven’t won any cups with this core

  17. tommybolts

Top 6F set. 3rd line will make or break the season. 4th line gonna be hell to play against. Maybe one solid D away from an A+ roster. Backup seems to have more upside than the vets of last few seasons, reminds me of Domingue

  18. Boltsforlife2022

Am I the last guy on earth who thinks ABB could play on the second line with Cirelli who could paper over his defensive woes? He’s such a dynamic offensive player.

  19. Boltsforlife2022

Looks pretty good to me overall. We’ll be in the playoffs again and then it’s up to Vasy and some good fortune.

  20. lilcaprisun3344

Honestly I see us fighting for a wild card spot. You can’t ask for the same result of winning the cup when you keep loosing pieces every year and don’t replace them with the right players. Covid which caused the flat cap destroyed the chances of what could have been one of the best dynasties in hockey history smh.

  21. BiscuitsMay

I love maroon, but wouldn’t have minded seeing someone who can actually skate on that line. Will be better without perry and PEB on it, but they were painfully slow last year. Still effective, but really feel we need some speed injected into the lineup.

  22. Procedure_Dunsel

I see Mikey and Sheary flipping, but like the Sheary signing a lot. High pain in the ass factor with that dude. Biggest disappointment factor is Fleury still being here …

  23. VanDwellerFeller

Stoked for Killer getting paid. I’ll take a 31yo Conor Sheary for $2M/year. Hopefully get at least 15 lamps from him next season.

  24. Ok_Door_9720

I’ll miss Killer, but I’m happy he’s getting some good money.

Our core is intact, and there’s still good support behind it. I don’t see us missing the playoffs so we’re still contenders imo.

  25. me_032788

Which one of those is our shut down line ?

  26. TheSergachef

personally feel like myers should be in over bogosian. other than that, lineup looks pretty much set. archibald and eyssimont will rotate what lines they’re on i think but yeah. we got a faster bottom 6 and we got a faceoff merchant in glendening. love the sheary signing. 40 point guy at the minimum on a very team friendly deal. feel like he’s going to be loved here. johansson in goal yeahhhh i mean could’ve done better there but he’s a backup i’m just glad it wasn’t some 40 year old dude who can’t move in a lateral motion anymore. i’m excited for preseason now to see if any of the crunch guys get a look with the team come october
