I think both of those guys are going to help our young D-Coreā¦ Experience can be huge in this league and these two bring a boatload of quality experience. (especially Johnson).. These two will be major mentors to guys like Power, Samualsson (though Iām not sure he needs it), R Johnson and others that we have down in AHLā¦ we now have a glut at the topā¦ but thatās a good problem.. I expect a trade maybe to move Joki and moreso olofssonā¦ As far as a goalie.. Iām not sure whatās the plan.. I can see them staying with the trio we have, even moreso as I believe UPL has 1 more year of waiver-exempt.. if thatās the caseā¦ I would not be surprised that our starting 2 (not top 2) is Levi and Comrie and when Comrie goes down.. UPL.. (doesnāt he always go down with an injury)
Quiet day for us but with impact. We definitely needed veteran defenseman. We have a lot of NHL defenseman now. Moves to come for us š¤
Love what Adams did today! Clifton is small but physical d man and good on the PK! Eric Johnson gives the team a veteran voice who has won a Stanley cup!
With Quinn out until Jan , im thinking put Middelstadt in his spot on the second line, Krebs as 3rd line centre and Jost as the 4th line centre between Okposso and Girgenson .
Sabres now have 9 D men on the roster. Anahiem is looking to get to the cap floor so maybe they would be interested in Jokiharju ? Dream trade – jokiharju Olofsson and UPL to Anahiem for John Gibson. I know im a dreamer! šMore realistic trade is Jokiharju to Anahiem for a prospect and a draft pick.
Lastly Dallas is looking for a D man , maybe Adams can send Bryson there??

Great points about Johnson. We missed the playoffs this season because of the two slides we went on with Samuelsson injured. I think these signings stabilize the D such that we can withstand a few key injuries on the back end and still get some Ws.
Two physical blue liners, exactly what we need. Both winners. Rock solid moves.
When I see what other teams picked up, I wonder if we couldn't have done a little better. Or maybe those guys didn't want to come here. Still, I like what we've done so far.
We definitely lost that wise old-timer influence when Craig Anderson retired. I can see Johnson stepping into that role somewhat. Maybe not on day 1… it will take a while for the trust to be built up, but every team needs a mix, you can't go for 100% youth.

Hot take: Tokarskiās career NHL numbers are better than UPLās. He will split games with Levi.
I'm suprised by Tokarski. After his performances in the playoffs I'd seriously look at Subban as a potential pairing. And they've still got Houser for depth too. I suspect that a trade involving Comrie and maybe even UPL might be upcoming for a tender to carry the load to keep Levi fresh. š¤
Now the Sabres have extra Dmen so a trade or 2 will be happening.
And Clifton was very good on PK last season. Exactly what we need.
