  1. Don't hate any of these deals, but the Soucy contract is giving me slight Poolman PTSD; at least it's just 3 years and not 4 years. Cole, as you said, could be flipped for draft capital if we're out of it by the deadline and he's built for the playoffs. The Hockey Guy really likes Blueger, so I've been aware of him for quite some time and I'm glad we finally got a decent 3C since Sutter, albeit it's a 1 year deal and also very movable cap hit should we fall short of the playoffs. Overall, would like for us to move on from Beauvillier, Boeser and/or Garland for some cap flexibility, but I wouldn't move them if we need to attach sweeteners.

  2. Soucy is the one I was expecting. Glad we're keeping term shorter for guys that need to prove it.

Overall a C+. I still don't like how this team is managing cap, and feel we need more room to navigate down the road.

  3. Very tidy. Didn't overextend on wage or term on any of them. Very little risk here. Great way to fill in the team.

  4. Pearson won't add anything to the cap he's already in there but if he plays it will take away from the LTIR space.

  5. The buyout implications on Soucy are very minimal. If they do it this off-season or the next, the cap hit would be under 1m year 1, 1.7 year 2, under 1m year 3… etc. very cheap stuff. Myers will come off the books next season and Cole is only 1 year.

  6. I don't mind these signings at all. But I don't love how we keep saying Myers is one of our 3 defensemen. Wasn't he below replacement last year?

  7. I like these moves. I said no to Cole because I thought he would get term. And said only on a one year cheap contract. And hoped they could get Soucy. Bluegar always fights and battles. I do not see us caving towards the end of games as much any more which in turn would make lots of those games wins for us. Demko stays healthy I can see his numbers getting so much better. Curious to see if he gets in the Vezina picture. And if they share the goal I can see Silovs as backup. Might surprise the league this year. Going to be some career years for some players. Even Hughes crushing his own record. Never know about a Norris consideration.

  8. maybe after paying out Myers his bonus money they can trade him. 6 million off the books. But if Pearson does come back to play the Canucks have way too many wingers. More trades in the mix.

  9. Really happy with this. Filled holes in the lineup with low-risk signings.

  10. finally a big hard to play against defenseman…soucy will be a nice addition as a 4/5 dman…

  11. I like all the signings, but Blueger is a little underwhelming as a 3C for me. And we're still missing another 3/4 level blueliner. If the Canucks can move Myers/Garland and free up some cap, I'd like us to get another C, a Rodrigues level guy, and another blueliner.

  12. With the lack of cap space a winger trade has to happen. No way Spencer Martin is our #2 goalie going in the season.

  13. First video I’ve watched of yours. Say hi to your newest subscriber

  14. For as dumb of a stat plus minus is, Soucy was a plus 7 in the Krakens first season as a D. People can say plus minus doesn't mean anything or he was shelted or whatever, having a positive 5v5 and pk goal differential is big on that team.

  15. Wow they did it. With the amount of cap we had I was worried there lol… ok …I can live with this

  17. the ian cole allegations were unsubstantiated, these things tend to favor the abusers especially successful, rich, famous people, but with only his side being known there was not really much authorities, the nhl, or teams could really do. im skeptical of these type of investigations but i do feel optimistic that he will help the team after hearing him speak to the media today.
