It was a mistake sending Eklund back. The Devils let Jack Hughes stay in the NHL, even as he struggled as an 18-year-old rookie. Now, Hughes has signed an 8-year extension. The Sharks, meanwhile, upset Eklund by sending him back to Sweden even when he was playing well. Not a good way to deal with the future of the franchise.
