They donât have the cap space. Even after the Hall trade theyâd have to free up another $6 -6.5 million more as thatâs what heâs reportedly asked for. They just tendered all their RFAs. Swayman and Frederic need new deals (thatâs probably $6 million per combined. ) Unless they find takers for Ullmark ($5 million per) or a few defenseman in exchange for picks etc. just not possible. Theyâre also on the hook for Bergeron /Krecj bonuses. Going to be LOTS of young guys and/one year deals to fill out the bottom 6. Maybe Sweeney will somehow pull it off but I think heâs gone:(
