Someone explain to me how the long term contract given out yesterday are going to mesh with the timeline of the kids taking roster spots. Are they not ready? Behind on development/taking longer?
Also what do we have against speed?
My only issue with the way Yzerman has been drafting/free agent signing is the lack of risk. I get that he’s going after character guys who are dependable 2 way players and that’s massively important for building a championship team. But I feel that we’re missing true superstars (outside of maybe Mo). There isn’t a team in recent history thqt won it all that lacked at least one of them on offense, and I just don’t see any on our squad atm.
This place is gonna look like a Facebook group till people can go back to yelling into the void of Twitter without limitations isn’t it.
I honestly don’t care about any of these signings, my only gripe so far has been signing better FA players in the same year as the most stacked first round draft class in years just so we could be marginally better and miss out on a top pick. I think Danielson can be really good, but if he doesn’t end up fighting for the 1C/2C spot in some way in his career this last year will be a major whiff.
