Very surprised that mitchkov fell to 7. Great pick for the flyers and I’m not worried about his timeline, I think it falls perfectly into how long it will take the flyers to turn it around and complete most of the rebuild. Overall, very excited with this pick and can’t wait to see him progress in the khl and make his debut for the flyers in the nhl.
I was rooting for Gabe Perrault at #22 since he and Cutter Gauthier are teammates at BC but I guess they went with another former player's kid … I just hope this pick does not come back to haunt them, esp with Perrault going to the NYR at #23!!!
I love the Michkov pick. Anyone complaining about the 3 year wait clearly doesn't get how most prospects take a good 2-3 years to make the NHL anyways. This kid is a potential generational talent that we simply cannot pass up and it's insane that we didn't even have to trade up to get him. It's not like we're planning on contending for the Cup in the next 3 years anyways. We're in a rebuild last time I checked, so it's very important to land a future cornerstone like Michkov if you have the ability to do it.

I’m fine with passing on Perreault he has skating problems. we have drafted far to many of those guys over the past few seasons Bobby brink, Tyson forester ect.
Not that it's a bad pick.
But I gotta admit I was VERY high on Leonard. He looked like a straight Beast. This team needs physicality and scoring.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. Will Smith, Ryan Leonard, Oliver Moore, Mathew Wood, Gabe Perreault.
They should've picked Leonard. He'd be playing with Gautier at Boston for crying out loud.
Mitchkov doesn't know a lick of English and is already a premidonna. He's gonna mesh real well with Torts. 🙄🤦♂️

Big mistake last year they dont draft ( David Jiricec) and this year at 22 they pick a D. At the one of the better forwards draft since longtime I am disappointed

As a pens fan, this hurts my heart because Michkov is absurdly talented. As a hockey fan, I look forward to him torturing me lol. Hopefully Michkov can get to the NHL asap. Also… just my two cents… I'm sure Simishev will be a fine player and I'm sure he's a great human… but the Coyotes taking him instead of Michkov is one of numerous reasons why they're in and will continue to be in hard times. Thanks for making sure that either the Flyers or Caps got a generational talent, Yotes. It's not like you could have used that or anything.
I scout the talent throughout the year, probably far deeper than most Hockey Enthusiasts… Michkov arguably rivals Bedard in offensive talent. Bedard isn’t McDavid 2.0, he’s more like Sidney Crosby with slightly better dangling skills. McDavid is in a talent category all by his lonesome. But in a universe where Michkov is 185 pounds and isn’t surrounded by Russia controversy, he goes 1 or 2. Him and Bedard are damn close. Damn close!
