    This was a pretty good deal on trelivings part for less then a million more than what holl and gudas went for. our d core looked slow in the playoffs so klingbeeg should help out with that and also take the pressure off of reilly as being the only offensive dman

    The writing is on the wall bro. Toronto is toxic right now Lets put you in the situation. You are a low tier or medium tier player. Your paymaster wants to nickel and dime you, in this case a couple 100,000 dollars. Meanwhile the core will negotiate for millions on their salary contract and get it without a little fight. You should pick up your gear and hightale it to another place where they appreciate your value and pay you more.

    I disagree with you Rosehill. Michael Bunting was the only Leaf to come out and play with heart. That is the way to play. It is all about getting under the opposing teams skin and tricking the referees if you can. When Florida and Tampa Bay did it to the Leafs no one took notice. They had all their players step up and playing nasty. They made Bunting look like an angel. The cameras just rolled on by. The referees put their whistles away. What happened to Mathew Knies as a rookie was absolutely disgraceful. If Marner, Mathews and Nylander were to take dives and fake an injury every time a player steps to them the core four, they would get more results. It is done in Soccer , Basketball and playoff hockey. They are million dollar players with a lot of skills but no game. Michael Bunting is a weasel tough like Brad Marchand. They are winners and sacrifice for their team.

    Still not grasping what Treliving is doing frankly. How does Klingberg 'toughen up' the back end? He's 6' 3" & now just under 200 lbs, but not a banger, so how is that better than Liljegren, Brodie or Timmins (6' 2" & 204). I assume Tree thinks he's got better upside than Timmins & he might be right, so I guess we'll see in a few months. Low risk signing with big offensive potential.

    Why doesn't anyone realize that a d man should be able to play DEFENSE??? Their job is to minimize scoring against… Wtf is this? When i played my only job on the ice was to break up plays anyway i could.

    It’s not looking very prominent sing boys. I don’t doubt Kleinburg can be a good player for us, but Shanahan’s insistence on bringing back the “gutless four”, and Sheldon Holl is handicapping the team! I’m sure Reeves will be a plus, but compare what we got so far with the team that won the Cup; We’re NOT even CLOSE! The Leafs “Country Cub” lives on! Obviously our gutless wonders wanted Keefe back instead of a coach like Laviolette that would have demanded some accountability! Laviolette waited as much as he could for the Leafs’ call, then he signed with NY. Same all, same all in Leaf land.

    Reaves’ 3 x 1.35 is objectively an overpay. Thx for showing up Treliving. ( Lucic, relatively same age, 1 year, 1 mil, JVR, not same player but offence contributor, 1 year, 1 mil, Reaves, 4 mil. LOFL )

    McCabe is not more defensive minded, did you watch him play last year? Guy was jumping up in the rush more than Morgan Reilly.

    People need to relax. They have the whole summer to add pieces. Klingberg is a solid offensive d man. They had way too much trouble getting out of their own zone and this should help that, as well as generating offence from the point.
