* They consider Pacioretty as the top-six forward they were targeting. * Tried a few trade options that didn’t pan out, seems like the the Pacioretty signing was ultimately where they landed. * Think of Edmundson as a potential top-4. * Target age of a trade move would be 25 to 30 if one were to happen. * No discussions with Wilson yet. * No movement on powerplay coach, talking to a few people. * Dowd and Sandin will both be good to go for the start of the season. * Not too much movement yet on Marty, but getting closer.
I’m getting the sense that outside of some potential camp surprises and Marty signing, seems like this is pretty close to the lineup we’ll see. There still might be some tricks, but this lineup is looking iffy at best.

NGL if this is it itās massively disappointing. Our issue is weāre old, slow, and injury prone. Signing/trading for two old, injury prone players seems like itās not going to help anything. Basically hoping our young guys take a massive leap and our old guys to stay healthy seems like this season is going to end in another lottery pick

At least we’ll have another top 10 pick

I also get the sense this is “it” in terms of big moves this summer and that they expect McMichael to be an impact player this year and that a coaching change gets Kuznetsov and Mantha closer to their usual selves.
It’s not the worst plan in the world and I don’t see how we’re just going to acquire a top 6 forward under 26/27 unless we’re giving up a significant number of assets. They aren’t cheap. Patches + McMichael + mystery box forward prospect like Protas >> trading every decent asset we have for…a guy we probably can’t afford to re-sign in a year anyways.
RMNB will be jerking off to the idea of McMichael getting big minutes but will be sure to be incredibly upset that Alexeyev isn’t getting 30 minutes a night.
