Would you re-sign Christian Wood? Yes or No
Am I the only one against this? Let's put his possible problems in the locker room away as rumors for a second and really think about it based on last years results:
1. He did not fit the scheme of Jason Kidd and Jason possibly never wanted him to begin with that's a fact
2. Going off a tangent here: Are you guys really basing a whole segment on a guy refollowing a franchise on instagram? Judging by that I'll be playing with Damian Lillard next season you better prepare the press releases. Please give your rumors a little bit more of a basis otherwise they are not worth discussing in the first place.
3. Woods biggest issue as far as I know is that his defense is subpar so how does he fit the team needs compared to a guy like Grant Williams? Weren't you guys saying yourself that we needed more defense? What changed within less than 24h?
4. The statline is a little bit misleading as in many games wood either scored out of his mind or not at all, personally speaking I like consistency. If you differ from this opinion don't worry we already got a guy like christian wood in our team his name is Hardaway Jr. and oh yes most Mavericks fans want him gone because he is waaay too streaky for the amount of money he gets.
5. He doesn't fit with Jason Kidds scheme Guys!!! Honestly am I the only person remembering this?
This rumor really seems to exist to look flashy on paper because we got most of the free agency sorted out at this point. Christian Wood didn't play many minutes for a reason and we need to get rid either of Jason Kidd as a coach or him so pick your poison people.
The biggest moves in free agency at this point will be adding great role players like Grant Williams or acquiring Aaron gordon (aside from Dame but we know where he'll be heading) and not acquiring huge contracts for big names that don't fit your team or deliver consistently (Shoutout to Deandre Ayton and James Harden).

I wouldnt bring back C Wood or sign Beasley. This feels like the Mavericks are waiting on the James Harden and Dame Lillard trades to happen and then they will focus on Grant Williams. Also I wouldnt hate PJ Washington on the Mavericks either. He's a solid 4 for you and can guard pretty decent but I still want Grant Williams.

I have a serious issue with how players are evaluated by multiple so-called basketball analysts. Kleber, Holmes, and even Powell in a legitimate line up are all 4's that can play the 5 in small ball lineups. Carlisle stunted the growth, and development of Powell! Dallas has 2 legit centers and would be wise to bring in a guy like Mo Bamba to sure things up because McGee is a conundrum. My biggest fear is at the 3 where the only legitimate guy is OMax😢 ..after that every other guy is undersized.

Cwood at the 4 is good, I personally like him. When he got roasted for his defense he stepped up, but when the whole org lost motivation he also declined in defensive performance.
People need to understand who is our 3th score so who we pickup that can be the 3th score don't count on hardway so unless we pick someone up to be the 3th we need Wood
I'm have a hunch that if the Mavs do re-sign Wood, it would be so that they can put him in a package for a possible trade. Maybe, it would be for that package for Ayton.
You guys as media analysts have a job to tell the truth. Wood was the second best player on the team until Kyrie came. Mavericks put this false narrative out there that his play wasn’t good enough when the numbers say different. The problem was Kidd dumb ass didn’t want him there and he did everything to sabotage the season because of it. My thing is don’t keep him if you don’t want him but take responsibility for him not planing out! It’s on the mavericks not him! Wood did enough to be a top 10 big man in the league, if you can’t win with that something is wrong with your coach period!
Clearly Williams is the superior
PROSPECT. He turns 25 in November, Houston kid, good shooter, rugged at 236 lbs (only 6’6 though), tough, has helped to win big games in Boston so clearly his fit next to Luka is solid (not great). Obviously it’s been offered and they have zero interest in Tim or Bullock. We will see in the next few days. Positive he’d prefer not to go to Charlotte or anywhere else where winning is secondary. Mavs make sense but so do five other teams (20% chance).

If you cant read that the writings on the wall that THJ is gone IDK what to tell ya. The whole signing of Curry was 100% to replace the shooting that we are going to trade away with THJ. The only 3 untouchables on this roster in my opinion are Luka, Kyrie and Hardy. Everybody else its open season. If the FO can bring a couple of defensive geared wings in I think you without a doubt should try to bring Wood back after fences got mended of course. Extremely offensively skilled Big men that avg 17ppg 7reb over a block per game and shoot 38%3pt dont just grow on trees. Then if its not going to work and you want to move him at the deadline that is a easy and attractive contract with upside to package and move with no problem this year.
