The Canucks have extended qualifying offers to Akito Hirose, Nils Höglander, and Vitali Kravtsov but did not issue qualifying offers to Ethan Bear, Travis Dermott, and Carson Focht.
As well, the Canucks agreed to terms with defenceman Noah Juulsen on a two-year, two-way contract.

Interesting! Hoglander is no surprise, but I hope Canucks keep Bear anyway. But do both sides really want to negotiate new (& lower) contract conditions ?! Roster planning seems to be pure banking business….

Ain't our place to say it but eh, it's his best bet to stick around and possibly play with Quinn Hughes when he's healthy. If he plays this card there is a chance he gets PAID next off-season by the Canucks or someone else.

There was some odd clues leading up to this. IE: he wasn't included in the Indigenous Day posts on IG – but they did wish him a Happy Birthday. Either way, not super surprising. Not a big loss.

Clay, it was NOT a concussion. You’re only perpetuating the lie. Dermott suffered a vaccine injury, just like Sutter. All NHL players are assets who can only legally say (having signed NDAs) what the club requires regarding injuries. Even if he wanted to come clean, they could have cancelled his contract. All of this happened immediately following the booster schedule. We should all notice how once the vaccine booster mandate was done, concussions are down. Probably 2022 will turn out to be the highest concussion retirement rate since forever.
It has nothing to do with Bears skill, it’s just he’s hurt and won’t be back most likely is the new year. We don’t have cap space to pay someone who isn’t gonna play for half the season

Too many injured players already! Peason,s career may be over, and Vancouver is liable for him. On defence we have too many hurt dfencemen! You need to have somewhat healthy players. God bless!
I like Ethan Bear, as much as I can like a defenceman that's a 3rd pairing guy on an NHL team like Stecher, but the Canucks don't have unlimited cap space for depth players. I'd like to see Hirose get a shot in this upcoming training camp/exhibition season and hoping for the best with Juulsen. I'm a little disappointed they haven't signed Burroughs yet.
