Didn't he have an 80 plus save game?
Trade Debrincat for Konecny who scored 30 goals, was a ppg player last year and might actually want to be here. He's also only 26 so should fit right in with the young core. Throw a 2nd to 4th round draft pick if you don't think its enough.
I hope Ottawa gets 110 points next year or playoffs
Forsberg is about a year and a half older than Korpisalo so he would be expected to be better in 2016 for the Calder Cup.

Injuries are of something one can't predict. Last year Ottawa went through 7 goalies and the league also had a record high. Coming from injury or not, Those who are the fittest as of now will be injured within the season to come.
Watson is not the answer for the fourth line. He does play his heart out but you can't have a scrapper getting speed bagged every fight! He is not in the same weight class as Reeves, Lucic etc. unless you're getting a true heavy weight you're going to lose that exchange every time , they do need to find somebody to help Kastellic because you don't want Brady scrapping at all.
Ideally you'd like a big tough defenceman to be able to deal with that. Kleven may grow into that role but is not ready for it anytime soon. Don't think you need to have scrappers anymore but you need guys that play tough. Guys that can be physically dominating with big clean hits and tenacious play. Yorkies right… Ottawa doesn't have a player that's going to fight Reeves but they have plenty of players that can aggressively forcheck and lay huge clean hits… that's where the intimidation comes in nowadays
I have a good feeling about Korpisalo.. 5 years is a bit longer than i woudlve wanted but sometimes you gotta give a bit more to secure those UFA's
I like the Korpi add, decent goalie, the low dollars are easy to swallow. But who is going to play on our bottom 6, holes all over down there and we can't fill them all with prospects and hope to take the next step can we?
Konecny is a right winger. He may have many intangibles but who plays left wing on that second line, Konecny or Batherson? Neither is a natural left winger which is what is needed. Not every guy is able to play his off wing like DeBrincat does.

I would like to see Branny play a forward spot on the Penalty Kill and essentially have 3 D-men on the PK.
PD backed himself into a corner by opening his mouth and letting the rest of the league know the Cat didn't want to be here long term.
I’m not convinced Nashville is simply switching things up. They bought out Duchene, retained 50% salary in the Johansen trade. They bring in an old, vet, former champion in O’Reilly as a stop gap to fill the roster spots. These moves have rebuild written all over them. O’Reilly is there to teach the young guys coming in. For this reason, I just don’t see them acquiring DeBrincat in a trade.
One team that has already been torn down enough to be past the initial stage of rebuild, is Philadelphia. That initial stage being moving everyone out. So in this case, I could see Briere making a “lateral” move to switch things up. ie; I want Konecny for DeBrincat YESTERDAY. I want it two months ago!
