I’m very happy. RD are very expensive on trade market. Much more than small top 6 wingers.
To think that the Canucks could have gotten both Wilander and ASP… but of course, they gave that up plus a second…
This was a good pick. RHD will always be a premium in the league. He has been compared to Shea Theodore. Hopefully, he becomes a mainstay on our blueline for years to come.

You couldn't be more wrong Clay. This is Juolevi 2.0. Same stupid comments , you have to draft Defenseman, D are most expensive to trade for….blah, blah , blah. First of all they should of been drafting 7-10 and would of landed superstars Dvorsky or Michkov. 2nd I don't care about Benson, it's about Skipping on Wood,Perreault and Moore. Willander has zero offense and will never be a 40pt D. You don't draft Defensive D at 11th overall, dumb pick by a terrible GM…. out .

Welcome to Vancouver, Tom Willander! I was hoping for one of the three remaining Greater Vancouver area players, LW Zach Benson(Langley), LW Andrew Cristall(Vancouver) and D Lukas Dragicevic(Richmond) but there is a lot of promise with this young defenseman who has committed to play at Boston University in the NCAA which is great decision on his part Will Willander become the next coming of Mattias Öhlund?? Who knows. However, I'm sure he won't be the Swedish version of Ollie Juolevi.
We might get to actually “draft and develop” now that we have Abbotsford. Haven’t had that since Moose.

It's always a crap shoot when you draft but I am happy with them filling what's needed most.
I hard disagree on Bensen. This team is literally a perfect example of how easy it is to obtain small, talented wingers. We can't give Boeser and Garland away and other teams have the same issues in the same position. The Canucks can get a scoring winger in free agency, trade, or waivers. RHD are only obtainable via draft.
Benson was talented but small. I was hoping for either Simachev or Willander. Willander is going to be atleast a 2nd pairing defensemen

It won't matter what they do, the negative trolls will never give any new Management Team a chance. it's just negative, negative, negative comments from the same negative fools. This was a smart pick, RHD are almost always valuable, and just because some picks don't work out, doesn't mean that ALL picks don't work out. The new Management has to be given a chance, and Jim has a good track record. That's why the rest of the league think Canucks "fans" are an embarrassment to the city.

willander and elias pettersson-2 on defense lekkermakki and hoglander on wings…sounds like a good international team but does not sound like a team that can make it through the tight checking gritty game of the NHL playoffs. Leafs offense gets shut down yearly when the games get tight checking and tough. Not sure Canucks management see the big picture. to fixated on rhd and 3lc and living in the now.
