Not the best team on paper at the moment, but given the cap space they had, I think they did a good enough job to get by and compete for a playoff spot, just get in and you never know, guys like Zacha,Debrusk, Coyle will need to step up even more this year, if JVR can put in 20 that would be a sleeper pick up
WOW, so far, GM of the year nominee Sweeney is earning an F this summer. He put this team in a financial stranglehold and he cannot get them out of it. First to last, he we come!!!
We can expect the Bruins to miss the playoffs. While they were picking up players past their prime the Leafs, for example, were adding Domi and Bertuzzi.
Where's Bridgette?
Bertuzzi is taking a HUGE risk. He is injury prone. He should have been offerred a 5yr, $4mil per yr and he should have taken it. Toronto is getting a rental; the same rental we had last year. Bertuzi was smart to get basically the whole contract upfront as a signing bonus, but he needs to stay healthy and produce in order for it to work out in the longer run.
