Reavo signed w/TOR for $1.3M per. Maroon will cost MN $800K. Maroon is a better player than Reavo.

We knew there wasn't gonna be much, but Maroon is, I think, an excellent piece to add. Remaining on the todo list:
1) Sign Gus
2) Sign Duhaime and Addison
3) Find a taker for Merrill and promote Hunt
That last piece gives us an extra $375k to make the first piece work
Glad they didn't bring back Reaves considering he got a 3-year deal with the Leafs. He didn't do his job when it mattered most like when Kaprizov got crushed by Stanley or was getting crosschecked by Suter repeatedly throughout the series. It doesn't really make sense for the Leafs because they had a tough guy in Simmonds, but he was benched for most of the season.
Maroon seen Reavo coming in the 23/24 playoffs with the leafs and headed west 😆

Actually once you go to arbitration and the the arbitrator renders a verdict there is no going back. The wilds choices are take the deal or gus becomes a ufa. within 48 hours of the verdict being rendered. If the team accepts, the player is signed to a new contract at the salary set in the verdict. Should the team decline, the player then becomes an unrestricted free agent. With the wilds cap issues I dont think you want gus in arbitration.
