Donnie and Rick look ahead to the projected Canucks lineup
Following the start of free agency on Saturday Donnie and Rick look ahead to the projected Canucks lineup to start the season and what the additions of Soucy, Cole and Blueger will do to the lineup.
i am very optimistic with pod and hoglander. I think they will have way better seasons under rick's system. I seriously believe the canucks can get a wildcard spot to get into the playoffs
Better line up then what they had however, ya still got players in the wrong spot. Petey isn't a stud #1 C. Players are gonna get hurt and there's not much depth. So, playing a strong D game will be a must to cover up shortcomings.
Is it possible that there is a verbal agreement between Bear and the organization to resign him when he gets closer to being healthy? Likely for cap purposes this may be the case, especially considering Bear liked it in Van and Van liked him (hence why they pursued him while he was in Car)
Donnie: "Pearson expected at training camp despite the hand issues." Translate to the less dramatic / more accurate: "Pearson expected at training camp now that his hand has healed."
Blueger wanted term and the thought was that he was going to get like 2,5*3, so the statement that a lot of teams were after him makes no sense given that Vancouver signed him for 1,9 on a one year contract
At best, BEST, they end up in 3rd place, no way they end up before LA, Vegas or the Oilers. Odds are more likely the 5/6th spot, fighting with Calgary for the 5th spot
That line up doesn't look very impressive does it ? I never understood the Beauvillier hate coming from Tocchet. The guy was scoring goals and doing well. He stopped briefly when they took him out of the top 6 and then started scoring again on his own. You NEED guys that score and I didnt see much of a defensive liability in his game to warrant the demotion he got.
I really think Pearson goes on the 3rd line if he’s healthy. Also the biggest question mark is bleuger if he’s actually a 3rd line center this a very good forward group and I think can be 3rd place team in the division with healthy demko as well
I’d rather Podkolzin play on the 3rd line. He needs more ice time than that if he’s going to develop into something. DiGiuseppe is a borderline NHL player, so he should be on the 4th.
I mean technically we were like 6-8 games out a spot sooo if the goaltending has a great start then maybe we’ll be a first round exit maybe a second round exit but if Demko comes out like last year we’re hurting lol

Solid 11th place team

I like that the Nucks seem a little deeper. Bubble team at best though. Still missing at least one top 4 dman and I’m not sold on Blueger as a 3c.
Topo Gigo as backup
We have some defencemen who can crush forwards
Is Podkolzin a bust ?

Demko is a slow starter. No one seems to realize, hope it doesn’t happen again
No one is accounting for Philip Johansson 😂😂😂
Defence wins – team will be much better this year
Sorry to say, that's still not looking like a playoff roster.
A Tocchet run training camp should give the Canucks a solid foundation to avoid another disastrous first 10 games.

No chance this team makes the playoffs LOL

If Demko stays healthy we make the playoffs!!!!! I believe !!!
Hirose looks great, but he's an unproven rookie at this point, so putting him in the mix and not including Juulsen makes no sense at all.
Hoglander gotta be working out 8 days a week this summer or he ain't making the team
Juulsen missing on D as 6-7 or 8
Wollanin was dangerous last year i dont get why nobody talks about him
Blueger wanted term and the thought was that he was going to get like 2,5*3, so the statement that a lot of teams were after him makes no sense given that Vancouver signed him for 1,9 on a one year contract
No Juulsen?

Hirose looked "right" and he looked calm and cool as Donny said. Def reminds me of tanev too
Podkolzin needs to show up. He's an enigma?
Another year of pain incoming
I would like to see DiGiuseppe play with Miller

I wish i had the continued optimisim some canucks fans have. I just cant have high expectations of this team.
Imagine a team where Di Giuseppe makes the lineup before Pearson or Hoglander, lmao. Canucks are pathetic.
They still have a massive hole at 3C.
Looks like a lineup that will achieve more or less the same results as the last decade….
They like Juulson a lot. He should be on the list.
Canucks WILL make the playoffs next season !

Management gather a team of losers , ha ha ha. It amazing any sucker pay to watch stupid players
I don't think Hirose is ready, who I do think is ready to play for Vancouver is Wolanin.
I'll be curious to see if McDonough has a chance to play his way into podz' spot early.
We simply cannot rely on Demko to steal our games. It's nice having him back there but the defense really needs to step it up this year.

Not much faith in the AHL guys making the team. Maybe some of these guys fed up enough to move on. Kraken filling holes with AHL candidates.
Let’s go try for that 11th pick again. Love this team.
Still need a top 2, 2way d man 😅. I wonder if we can trade myers for Cale makar lmao 😂
Depth is good but hope we can move a wing like Garland for a 1B goalie and a 3C if needed
Hoglander not there is wrong lol
Wildcard 2 type beat
Wildcard 2 type beat
compared to Edm, Seattle, Vegas, LA, we are in a dogfight for wildcard. Hope the centrals weak.
Looks like a very weak team
