Quibble here: The time CBJ was 3rd in the Metro, they were also 3rd in the East and 4th in the NHL because the Atlantic was kinda bad and the whole West was mid that year. CBJ ended 3rd in the Metro with 5 points and 3 more ROW than Habs who were top of the Atlantic. So, CBJ those years under Torts were a legit threat for a few years there.
That said, Torts's temper tantrum stuff was mostly in defense of his team. Babs turns the guns toward his own guys, which is the major difference why I was ok with Torts and losing my mind about Babs.
I think Jarmo is getting "start winning or GTFO" pressure to maximize Werenksi, Laine, Gaudreau, etc. before they age out of their window or walk.

im going to comment with like a grain of salt type thing that Babcock Being a bully is wrong like Toronto getting Rid of him rightfully so the only reason I can think Of that Columbus said sure because of either 2 things either they are like well he apologized maybe he has learned wont do it anymore . or maybe they are like well despite that he is a great coach we need his accolades here maybe its both of those things who knows

unfortunatly because of your involvement in pride i must unsubscribe i encourage others to do the same i do not hate i just disagree. i am not religious i just think that common sense dictates the natural order of things are being set aside for our own personal game. hats off to the stall brother for standing up to what they believe i think the rest of us need to start doing this aswell.
Every time I hear the story about Marner and the list, I wonder how much cap space that situation is costing Toronto to this day. Maybe it's nothing. However, If I were in that position, knowing that signing that contract means this person is in a position of authority over me, you'd better believe that factor would play a part in any discounts or premiums that the team would have to pay.

The reason why people are hard on Marner is not the $ but the length of the contract both Mathews and Marner should of been signed to 7 to 8 year deals ,,, and that’s not even talking about a no trade clause in the contract in the last year!
Josh Anderson is to the Toronto Maple Leafs what Erik Cole was to the Montréal Canadiens. Everytime Erik Cole play against the Montréal Canadiens he would score 2 or 3 goals against them. The only time he did not play those it was because he play for them at the end of his career.
