Nick you and Dan Kingerski get it some others not so much…Yes 2/3 time top lines other 1/3 game play defense forcheck physical protect lead.I like Letang,Graves then Petterson ,Petry,Po Joseph,Ruuta extra Smith Ruhwedel leave it alone …..they are solid playoff team let Karlsson go i agree
I feel bad for Ty Smith. It looks like he'll never get to play if he stays with the Penguins. Whatever deal they make with the Sharks should include him cuz the 🦈 will let him play they love former NJ Devils.
I would be more than happy to trade Letang for him . Letang has played only one full season . Letang doesn't play Defense either .
They should have dumped Joesph last year but he's the Diversity Hire .
The only problem I had is Jarry's term
EK could work for the Pens as he does gobble up even strength points… but he does need a baby sitter so to speak. If they are trading Marcus to get him than there has to be another deal for Petry to get a solid left D (ie Hannafin) that could play with letang and bump graves to watch over EK. Also, slightly off topic but they had better find a creative way to get rid of Granlund because the buyout wasn't too bad and you don't want to waste 5 mil of space on that contract (no offence to the person).
I agree with you all the way. If Pettersson is involved it’s a no deal for me. It has to be pettry. Even at 8 M, clearing 8 million in cap for them for 4 years is huge! That’s worth a huge price.
You are forgetting one thing. The sharks dont have the talent Pittsburgh has over the last two years effecting his numbers.
He would enhance Crosbys and Malkins playoff stats.
Screw it we need a shake up like Karlsson, thinking we can just replace the players we lost plus add some defensive forwards in the bottom six and all of a sudden we are a contender is completely ridiculous
Are we winning a cup with the current roster ( NO ), because of lack of size, speed and toughness on defense. EK offers none of that. But… for some entertainment in Sids Twilight, yes, let him run the PP. And start the rush.
Pettersson would be Karlsson most likely partner.

Got the mobility of a pier piling. These forwards much different than Evan Rodrigues..Teddy Bleuger…Archibald??? Graves any better than John Marino ?? Honestly I'm all on board for Karlsson. While all of the free agent signings were fine, none of those players are game changers. They're just marginal upgrades from last season's bottom six players, and Graves is nothing more than Dumoulin's replacement. The Pens need to make a splash to be a serious team again, and Karlsson would be that splash.
I wouldn’t take him. Unless he’s taking Letangs spot I don’t see the fit. We need defensive defenders. And at this point Letang is better at 6.5per than Karlsson at 11per
The only way I do this as a penguins fan and not a general manager for the team, would be a trade involving petry as his contract is just terrible for the player he is in my opinion. Petry maybe someone not in our top 6 and possibly a third round pick perhaps. I’m not sure

Petry needs to be apart of Ek deal if we get him and I would flip Petterson for picks n prospects and ues that to aquire Noah hanifin and and throw in ty Smith, would only do that if we can for sure get Hanifin.
