  1. Perry had an amazing positive influence with rookie Cole Caufield when with the Habs. I think it's a move to have him in the locker room with Bedard. At least it makes sense to me.

  2. I feel like the Foligno and Perry deals were overpriced because they are paying them more money to stay and mentor Bedard instead of taking minimum deals elsewhere to chase a cup

  3. Ppl might bash Perry for his antics and this cap hit, but the guy helps teams a lot come playoff time. It's not a fluke he had so many finals appearances lately, that cap hit was probably cost to keep him, help mentor new young core otherwise he walks.

  4. Hawks don't care about the point production of these players they are getting besides Hall, they want enough solid veterans to teach the kids that play this season how to be professional NHLers and protect them if needed.

  5. I thought Boston liked Bert but I guess money talksssssss let’s see what he signs love watching him no lie

  6. Most likely, the Hawks traded for Perry's rights because Luke Richardson wanted him. He liked the way Perry interacted with the youngsters while they were in Montreal. I'm sure he is hoping Perry do the same now, especially given the roster will loaded with youngsters this season. Perry is getting overpaid probably because that's what it took to get him to come to a rebuild team, although I suspect he was also hoping for one last big pay day. He'll be 39 when the season ends, and his playing days are numbered. He's getting while the getting is good, and Chicago can afford to overpay him this season.

  7. Perry's contract making it more expensive to sign older free agents, especially if they've won the cup. Fun negotiations ahead.

  8. Buying out Wheeler(after stripping captaincy) is a bad look for Canadian markets. The one guy who wanted to stay in a Canadian market despite the weather and other negatives that come with it and he gets treated like this?

  9. I do not want another bought-out guy with questionable locker room impact in Dallas. Jim plz

  10. Quickly but no real term exposure. Plus you have to take care of the rookie!

  11. that Perry contract is unflippable. Even if you retain 50% thats still 2M in cap. Perry wont be worth that much in his career ever again. Very odd contract.

  12. I think that's Chicago's plan with Feligno and Perry for such high amounts on one year deals… They may be using this cap space to lock down some playoff depth players that they will then flip at the trade deadline for picks. I can't see why foligno would have signed there otherwise, they probably told him they will move him to a contender AND he gets a good payday.

  13. I got a fake hip and it broke because I continued to skate. Doctor was pissed saying "You're too active." Imagine a doctor saying "you're too active". It's usually the opposite. I'm 66 though.

  14. For perry, I’m guessing the blackhawks wanted him that badly for a veteran player with a lot of playoff experience? I’m not sure. It’s unlikely they make the playoffs, but the have a lot of rookies and young players so maybe that’s how they justified it.
