This was one of my happiest days as a Leaf fan… also the picture is hilarious because these two hated each other 😆
Gary Roberts is still my favourite player of all time.
I wasn’t even 1 yet, and I remember where I was.
Probably in my crib….sleeping…..in England. With no idea that 8 Years down the line my substitute teacher would introduce me to the world of hockey and show me his favorite team the Leafs that I also became a fan of because they had a blue Leaf and I liked Blue.
You wanna talk about a team having snot, these two brought some snot! Roberts is one of my favorite players, he always played hard as hell every single shift
I’ve played in a few charity tournaments with Corson and he still has the hands. Speed isn’t there at all but man, it’s crazy how good these guys are.
Also Corson was a great locker room guy. Had an absolute blast with him
I remember reading the Hockey News (I think?) blurb about these signings back then and still recall it almost word for word.
“The addition of Corson and Roberts is like watching horns grow on a bull. This team is ready for a deep playoff run.”

Gary Roberts is my favourite player of all time.
This was right after my first memory of the leafs. I remember them winning against Pittsburgh and then we know the rest. I was 9 at that time. All I knew was the leafs winning.
No anxiety, I knew Cujo or Belfour would win it for us. Going in to game 7 against Ottawa that one time with Nieuwendyk I knew we’d win. No hesitation.
With those early 2000 teams you’d just know they would find a way. And usually they did.
