I remmeber that fight so clearly. Bouchard, although the much bigger man got his clock cleaned! Bouchard no helmet and punching down, Jonathan, chin tucked in with a helmet and firing away smacking Bouchard over and over. No contest that night and Bouchard was never the same again!
Refs were pretty tough too love the bruins today n way when love watching these old fights I’m 35 so luchic was my bad bruins now I’m liking Zacha he hits hard haven’t seen him fight yet hopefully he throws the gloves one day
Bouchard got his for that nasty trip at the puck drop. Stan gave him a good solid hit Bouchard took offense. He should not have, obviously. Stan 'The Man' Jonathan was a honey badger of a man.
Game 4 of the '78 playoffs.! I've watched this a millions times: best fight I've ever seen. It looks like D'Amico got cut by Claude Bechard's skate when they jumped in to break it up. D'Amico isn't cut when they each grab a guy but when Bechard pulls Jonathan away, D'Amico's bleeding. I have this entire game on DVD and it's one of the best Bruin games I've ever seen. Incredible action from both teams and jam packed with Hall of Famers. Schmautz ties the series with the OT winner.
No helmet in the fight for Johnathon? He could have ended up like Bouchard instead.Bouchard landed 5 right on the helmet while Stan didnt connect with his first 6 punches. The helmet saved him.
Alot of Bruin's fans say the toughest Bruin's were Lyndon Byers, Jay Miller, LoL! Jonathan would knock the shit out of either one in a fight, he would beat Byers to a pulp and Jay Miller, LoL! Forgetaboutit!

If you watch when he gets the player down on the ice that’s when the fight is over. Except, that’s when he continues to hit his opponent and you see the blood on the ice. Kinda dirty hitting a defenseless man but then I’m sure his opponent might have done the same
Funny hearing this through the Canadian announcers' filter. It's as if Bouchard almost held his own rather than the complete destruction that Jonathan leveled on him. Fred Cusick's version is far more entertaining…
This fight reminds me of the fencing scene in the Princess Bride, when Westley starts laughing and says "I am actually left handed…" when Jonathan switches to lefty, it's over. That was a huge punch

play by play dan kelly…brilliant…..same when he did the 1987 canada cup
This F'en clown "It looks a lot worse than it is" If it was Jonathon who took that beating he wouldn't be saying that.
Rangers fan. Bouchard had his ass handed to him by Jonathan. He had 4 inches in height over Jonathan. Classic
Stan: I won this fight
Pierre: I won 5 cups.
What are the Habs nuts!!!! they picked the wrong guys on the ice for the B's to send a message….

That announcer is a total moron. Stan Johnathan beat the living shit out of Bouchard. He didn’t even know what city he was in after that one. Weasel.
I love watching this fight.
Seeing Jonathan punch Bouchard in the face several times will never get old. 😂
Stan was tough used both hands knew how to fight.
and still had O'Reilly…Schmautz…Milbury….everyone forgets that year..I think Jonathan had around 27 Goals
Jonathan absolutely bludgeoned Bouchard.
Stan Jonathan was rabid badger!
He leakin, call the amberlamps. i don't think Stan Jonathan ever lost a fight.
The fact that a guy like Lupien had to fight a stiff like Wensink is what was wrong with hockey of this era.
Holy shit the ref has blood on his face too at 0:54

Jesus hockey back in the day was BRUTAL!!
John Wensink beat everyone he ever faced , but those brawls with Lupien in both the AHL and NHL were classics !

Even the refs leaking.. holy shit
I fucking ❤this 😂
Bouchard's face looked roast beef.
The punch I think that hurt moat was the left to the gut. Watch. Bouchard goes down like a lump of turd.
Bouchard got pulverized into powder that night. Nasty !
Bouchard got laid tf out! 😂😂😂
Stan Jonathan hit him so many times he did know his name
