This man is reason why I love the new york rangers to death
Richter is an immortal legend in the hearts of Rangers fans. He utterly stood on his head in Spring 1997 and powered the NYRs to a pretty good run, especially against the Devils, he was phenomenal.

Second favorite ranger of all time. Only behind the best captain that’s ever worn the C Mark Messier. As a kid growing up watching his saves was what got me into hockey. And then having had the honor of meeting him multiple times. Fantastic goalie and a fantastic human being.

What an unbelievable highlight reel. I was lucky enough to witness his entire career… The man deserves more than 1 Cup, and every accolade he receives. He epitomizes what it means to be a pro, in every way, even to this day. Legendary work ethic, dedication, ability and heart. A true NYR legend. Thanks for all the memories, Mike!

Grew up watching and learning from the modern era greats starting early 90’s after nearly 30 years I now realise the majority of my play style imitated Mike richter . Must have been a subconscious thing as I always enjoyed watching him play after watching ‘NHL’s masked men ‘ I owe thee a great debt 🫡
I was telling my friend who has a man crush on Henrik Lundqvist. Why doesn’t he have one for Mike Richter? (No reply) Keep in mind, we both hate the Rags! But him being in ex-goalie, loves Hank! For as much as absolutely hate & the utter destain I have towards the fucking Rags! I actually do like Mike Richter. He played out of his mind for us in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey! He’s the reason we Americans won! Again: I don’t understand why Henrik Lunquist gets all the love? Mike Richter is the man! It is baffling?
