ROR was never intended to stay. He's gonzo. It will suck to lose Schenner though, with him and Reavo in the lineup nobody will fuck around.

It's weird that Luke wouldn't come back ….even if he was offered a few hundred extra grand, why not just do it.
Reaves will be a terrible signing just play Clifford.
Reaves is 36, it's likely a good thing his 1.3 is buriable. I always thought signing O'Reilly would be a bridge too far, but I was holding out hope some kind of arrangement could be had with Schenn. But at the age these guys are at, and the term they will undoubtedly get, well, the drop off in play is sometimes precipitous. A few years from now, this moment in time will likely be forgotten, but if we keep an eye on it, I think we may feel we dodged a bullet with those guys.

Same old story… Too much money tied up with the marshmallow core, not enough left in the cupboard to keep or bring in decent players for depth. Bargain bin shopping instead. Nylander already causing problems for a new deal. At some point Shanahan has to grow a brain, and start a different approach. Trading Nylander is the 1st step. Duhhh.. hello…They might as well just use the Marlies for the rest of the roster. Totally ridiculous
This is a massive loss for the Leafs. They're so bad right now and I really don't know how you get better or expect a big trade that'll fix everything.
