Goodbye, Steven Stamkos

Steven Stamkos has been the heart and soul of the Tampa Bay Lightning. On the ice, and even off the ice he has been known for nothing but incredible things. League’s top goal scorer, leading voice and presence in the locker room, and one of the greatest 1st overall selections of all time. We know now they’ve achieved greatness by winning the Stanley Cup, however they did this all without Stanmer! Due to a flat salary cap, will Stamkos be traded?

  1. Don’t know if it’s the Boston accent but I can smell the salty tears. Worry about your own team, stop trying so hard to click bait you clown

  2. I'll Xpost this to make sure its seen

No way in hell he gets traded

Also to say that they did this all without Stamkos is inherently intellectually dishonest. His WIllis Reed moment in game 4 pretty much clinched the series for them, there is no way in hell Stamkos gets traded, you have SEVERAL other option to alleviate your cap crunch. with 5.3 mil in space, keep this in mind:

Shattenkirk isn't coming back, Neither is Schenn and Bogo
    Neither is Maroon
You have no real pressing RFAs except Cirelli and Sergachev, and those will be bridge deals with modest hits
Killorn is a Great value that could land you futures (maybe recoup a first or a high second for a team like Ottawa, who is 45 mil under the cap right now and needs to get to the floor and is SWIMMING in high round picks (7 in the first 60) and clear about 3.5 mil (Accounting for retained salary)
There is a LOT Tampa can do, and none of it would be as stupid as trading a league superstar and leader who is making under market value, and I say this as a fan of a division rival! Come on, man!

  3. sadly have to agree, covid-19 caused so many problems for so many teams. I think he'll be moved solely because of the flat-cap

  4. Geez that was the hardest click bait I've ever fallen for. I feel like I just got Rick rolled

  5. he did play a game, and he scored probably the most memorable goal in lightning history. his speech at the cup celebration tonight showed just how much he loves tampa and this team. there is absolutely no way he gets moved (btw his contract is 8.5 million, not 9.5. and he has a NMC)

  6. Not a chance. Gm updated today and said he's gonna be good to go by camp as he reinjured a sports hernia and would need weeks, not months.

  7. We’re not getting rid of Stamkos. We’re keeping him in Tampa for the rest of his career I guarantee it.

  8. Stammer Loves the sun/fun & the ability to live a normal life. He holds all the cards. No trade clause & 8.5 is not easy to move even if Stammer agrees to it. So this is highly unlikely.

  9. LMAO this video ended up being soo off xD got his 2nd ring and he’s playing better than ever right now
