Imagine if we had locked him up to an 8 year deal 2 summers ago instead of spending all of our cap on OEL, Garland, Hamonic, Poolman, and Dickinson.

It’s been really nice to see this organization start to rebuild a bit of the goodwill it lost over the last decade. Those years where guys like Edler/Holtby/Schmidt wanted out, and the only way to entice UFA’s was 4-6 year deals.

Allvin talked about how there were free agents who wanted to come here that Van couldn’t sign. Soucy spoke highly of how aligned everyone in the org was and how they all had the same message/vision.

Petey still needs to sign, but it really does seem like they’re slowly rebuilding the goodwill of this franchise.

Allvin also didn’t seem too worried to get this done quick tbh, maybe they want Canucks to finish their off-season moves to see if they can actually put together a competitive team that inspires confidence for Petey to sign long term.

I hope they get this done before training camp so Petey can play without thinking about this all season

i think new contract before summer ends or just before training camp. so no distraction for the season.

  5. These types of interviews are useless. It’s not like the agent is gonna reveal anything substantial related to talks and they definitely won’t shit on the organization in public even if a player is not happy.

I’m starting to get worried with how many times his agent has to drop the old sports cliche “He’s happy in (Insert City) and likes the city.

The REAL question is, Is Quinn Hughes happy in Vancouver? ☹️
