Ekholm is for real, a true work horse that pays attention to detail. Nashville has traded a few gems like Arvidsson to LA Kings, gave away Tolvanen (on waivers)to Seattle, and Ekholm of course. Their young talent will have to rise to the occasion to get to the next level.
I said this guy was a great pick up. Makes him the best defenseman on that team now. The problem is, they only have 1, maybe two good defensemen. No depth. They can't win a cup without depth at all positions.
To be fair to Ekholm, there's not a lot of guys period who'd fight Reavo. As a Stars fan Reavo has given me MANY reasons to hate him, but the dude is a monster and not someone most people would be willing to throw hands with. He may be a dirty mfer at times, but he's also one of the last true enforcers in the league.
Nothing but respect for both of you. Ekholm is without a doubt an improvement over Barrie. That being said they gave up a lot to make a marginal improvement.
