Blake Wheeler has just signed a one year contract with the New York Rangers for $800,000. This is a great signing for the New York Rangers. Wheeler has a lot of experience that is going to help the Ranger to take the next step in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He is both a great goal scorer and playmaker. I also think that Blake Wheeler is going to provide the New Rangers with a lot of flexibility with their line up.

This was such a cheap deal. He will probably score 50 – 60 points, and he's going to be paid pretty much league minimum. I question the pick-up if the Rangers are trying to develop the young players. It just seems like Alexis and Kappo would develop on easier on another team. They seem to be stuck in the Rangers system.
Wheeler is a decent player but a shit leader. I've watched nearly every game of the Winnipeg Jets since before he was even Captain and since he was stripped of the C.
The Rangers made a smart move in only signing him for a year and for cheap. He's old, has no leadership skills but he still can produce.
He used to boss Trouba around when he played for the Jets so it will be an interesting dynamic now that Trouba is his boss 😂
