I was in line to get in downstairs at the pembi one night back in 2019, some guy slid down the stairs so I helped him up. After dusting himself off I asked him if he was alright and to my amazement I realized it was Laurent Brossoit, to which he said yes. I was in a drunken stupor so I then told him he’s awesome and no one can do the splits quite like he can. After reading this article I’ve come to the conclusion that I may have influenced his decision to come back to winnipeg.

“Sorry ‘bout that” chants would be appropriate.
I was pretty disappointed about the chant, and that was long before he decided to return. He was a fantastic Jet and did his job well. If the all star game recognized back up goalies, he’d have been an all star backup goalie. He was good to us, and I’m disappointed that we treated him poorly.

It’s funny how other fanbases were acting like Broissoit would be offended by the chant. He’s a professional athlete and literally any knowledgeable fanbase is gonna try to get in the other team’s goalies head.
