Hoping sens can pick him up but Iâm sure there will be lots of teams lined up for league min. He will be no risk possibly high reward at that.
Zadina isnt defensive minded. He looks more of an offense guy. Good luck to which team that signs him, dont count on his defensive abilities.
Wow what a dumb move by Zadina. 4.5 mil one way contract guaranteed. He could have gone to the minors and got his game going. If you cannot show well in the AHL how would anyone want to take a chance on that contract. How will he get anywhere near that money when teams would not pick him up for nothing. There must be more to the story. Maybe going to Europe or Russia for tax free money..
Holland should sign him cause he is the dope that drafted him ahead of Quinn Hughes.
I think Veleno is next, maybe he goes to Ottawa with some more pieces and or picks?
This is a perfect example of what a crap shoot it is drafting in the NHL. Top 10 pick that hasnât come close to delivering at the NHL level and he has had ample opportunity. I wish him luck and I hope a change of scenery will help him produce at a higher level.
Blues should sign him.

Maybe the extra money will help Yzerman to be willing to sign Debrincat to the 8.7M he is reportedly looking for but I am guessing for 2 seasons and not 7-8 yet. That might be the compromise that gets it done. An extension can always be done later if it is working out.

Can't perdict longevity/chemistry. He should easily fit with Larkin but I guess philosophy takes a place here.
Part of me wonders if trotz will take a shot on him. Nashville is moving to a younger team and I think he would have a shot to get some playing time on the wing there.

Lots of so called experts that really don't have a clue what they are drafting.IMO most people go back simple stats and even awards are given using simple stats.
Habs have their own Zadina "Slafkovsky" over rating very ho hum players.
You cannot look at SIMPLE stats you need to determine how effective those stats were.40 or so points as a rookie in th eAHL doesn't mean squat and especialy if he was given some good ice time and quality linemates.
The Habs and their fans are famous for getting excited over 30-40 point players and we have another in the bum Newhook.DET also thought Mantha was going to be a stud…..NOPE.
The simplest way to decipher young players is to NOT make excuses for them they either have it or they don't.
What I think might happen. Debrincat gets traded to a team other than Detroit. I don't think the Wings have the player the Senators want. Nor do the Wings have the first round draft pick that Ottawa wants. I don't think the Wings want to give up the prospect the Senators want, either. Other possibility, the Senators don't trade Debrincat. They sign him to a one year contract. Debrincat is a UFA in 2024 and anybody can sign. Not very likely. So a trade to another seems the only option for Ottawa.
As a Wings fan he's just not that good. Yzerman made a bad pick and then compounded it by giving him that 3 year contract. This is the best outcome for Detroit. Zadina is a hard worker but his size works against him and he somehow fooled alot of people. The roster spot is more important than keeping him on the team. Many better players have gone to Grand Rapids to work things out but perhaps he feels that he's above all that. Whatever, bye bye and good luck elsewhere.

It's always a little sad when a high draft pick doesn't work out—I still believe someone will give him a second chance in the NHL at the League minimum, he's still young and could still reach his full potential—curious to see if he winds up in a training camp for next season.
IMO Blashillâs system hindered Zadinaâs development. Z was supposed to be a lethal scorer . Instead, the coaches wanted đhim to forget the goal scoring and be a defensive forward. Now the fans want the Cat who doesnât play defence. Go figure.
Lol if i were drafted by detroit id wait the 3 years and sign somewhere else. Id be hesitant to shake Yzermans hand too đ
