TL:DR, ranked 7th currently

The rangers 7th is a joke, they’re still easily a top 4 or 5 team in the league with one of the most serious chances at winning the cup in the next year or 2 along with the devils and hurricanes

I’ll take being 7. I think we could easily be above the stars then Edmonton and leafs are kind of our tier. I would put vegas above us leaf’s and oilers tho.

I’m always confident in Us with Igor, if kakko, chytil, laf all take improvements and one or more have a true breakout year like they were thought to earlier I think we will be a scary team and much more deep with more scoring from all lines.

Didn’t have much cap to work with this season but I think we did really well. We got an experienced backup, a great 3LD imo, wheeler who although is old is a veteran and still a good offensive player, a solid fourth line centre in Bonino, and a bunch of depth forwards. So can’t complain. The off-season still isn’t over, although unlikely a goodrow trade and tarasenko signing is possible, but more realistically an addition of a healthy Kane during the season could also really benefit our squad.

7th is fair. I honestly expected it to be a higher #. So many good teams – so much parity. I love my team but I think they were even a little generous with this ranking. Fair either way.

I can see us anywhere from 9 to 3. Sadly it really does feel like the top 2 teams in the league are the other 2 metro teams. Either way this means nothing but it isn’t egregious with any of its rankings from what I saw. Not a bad list by bleacher report

Devils and Canes….I hate the Metro.

Power Rankings are stupid, who gives a shit where they are.

  7. If we learned anything from last year, it’s that the regular season doesn’t mean shit. Build a team that can win in the playoffs, that’s all that matters.

7th ain’t bad. Unfortunate that 1 and 2 are in the division though. That Toffoli trade was way too good for the Devils, and the Canes can’t help themselves when they see quality defensemen.

On the plus side I like our roster at the moment better than last year’s opening day roster. The kids have had a year to mature and hopefully are putting the work in this offseason. Vets and Igor are still in their prime. I’m big on Wheeler and Gustafsson filling the biggest holes in the lineup for dirt cheap. Our 4th line/depth guys are improved and we won’t have to dress AHL guys for long stints. If things gel and our biggest need is a 3RW at the deadline that’s an easy pick up.

I’m not sold on the Devils goaltending consistency or team toughness in a playoff series. And the Canes still don’t have an elite offensive threat at forward, and their goalie situation also isn’t rock solid between injuries and inconsistency. Aho has a great overall game but can’t do it himself, Svech will need some time before he’s 100% and Necas disappears around physicality. Every team has flaws.

We’re gonna have some fun hockey this year.
