Do think Nate Schmidt will get traded? Do you want him to get traded?

Like to have him stay but if we did trade him who would we possibly get for him

Sorry Clay. Having read the blurb on Schmidt, it sounds like speculation that is confused for an actual rumour. I'm sure Schmidt would be discussed (as with all the other players) to make space. After all, that's what a GM should be doing.
I don't think this particularly trade rumour was/is worth discussing.

Only if it is a good hockey trade that helps improve the Canucks. I didn't think he was that bad last year when you take into account all that went on. I think he has a bounce back season if he is here.
He seems to have a childs mind. I assume a lot of his decisions aren't well thought out. We need leaders, not the class clown
I think its been a hard year for everyone. Specially for the players that got traded this year. Schmidt looks like a guy that needs to be friends with his teammates and that wasn’t possible this past year. I think this coming year he’ll find his game and his teammates and that will reflect his game.
New team, new city, new system give him a full 82 game season 👍
Way too many turnovers from him last year along with Myers. Not worth the price tag.
Keep him, give him the full season to adjust and learn Brad Shaw's system (and pair him with a defense first D-man). Hope that helps him recoup some value and then could flip him again (or at least poach someone like Lauzon before we move him, since that would be a good amount of cap leaving)
I think he is not that good at this stage of his career…so if we can get something decent, I say trade him

If we do move on from Nate Schmidt, we will save a lot cap-wise, but the question would be how do you replace Nate? He was one of our better offensive Dman and it's not easy to replace that. He needs a REAL season to judge his play in my personal opinion
Until or if he gets traded then so be it but for now he is still part of the Canucks defense

Interesting. Sounds a little bit like Tryamkin, Part 2. I hope it's not true, but if it is, then I am a little disappointed. Maybe having all that playoff success with Vegas has spoiled Schmidt so he'd rather not be a part of a rebuilding Canucks team. Whatever the reason, if he ends up staying next season, then I expect nothing less than his best. It would be in his best interest, thereby increasing his market value so he can get moved more easily if he really wants out. Thanks, Clay!
he desereves another shot with the team next year. A FULL training camp+ new defensive coach in shaw can bring the best out of everyone On D. even if van trades him whats his value? a third? just to clear cap space.

players go all out there first year to make a impression not only for their team mates but the fans as well. cant imagine him being better in his second year. i would rather have luke schenn back for half a million than schmidt for 6 mill. waist of cap space imo

just so you know Clay, Schmidty follows social media like a hawk…i have two friends on Twitter he blocked and they didn't even follow him…he was a 3rd line center with CAPS…did well with VGK but was busted for PEDs…without those PEDs performance not so great…just sayn
