NOZOMI – Attacking The World’s Fastest Bullet Train Route on a Bike (Will I Succeed?)

The Train of Hope (NOZOMI) will be my guiding light in this new attempt to break a World Record. Cycling from Osaka to Tokyo in less than 19 hours, through three major cities made up of 20,000,000 people. Is it even possible?

The Shinkansen (Bullet Train) makes it’s way between Osaka and Tokyo multiple times per day. 520km that can now be traveled in 2 hours and 20 minutes. This route has been on my bucket list for several years and the day has finally come.

The existing Record for the Cannonball Route was 19 hours. I had one goal: to break this record. This Short Story broken into several chapters, highlights various important aspects of my race against the clock. At the end of the day, it’s our mental strength that will make the difference between victory or defeat. Will I succeed?

  1. We are part of nature, and the positive attitude is really understanding and knowing how it behaves and knowing, how to deal with Mother Nature in order to be successful.Wishes for a good journey.

  2. Congrats !!
Questions about the gear : was tri-bars not suited for the course due to traffic ? A half frame bag doesnt fit your frame, more aero ?

  3. Excellent! Reminds me of a ride I hope to do next year… Riding from Seoul to Busan on a bike path around 600km

  4. Great watching this from Tokyo on the last night of my first trip to the country, having spent a few nights in Osaka! Congrats!

  5. Solid as always… thank you for prioritizing your safety on the road. You rode the distance, doesn't matter if video is full cut or parts of the whole. Keep at it

  6. What a cool idea. I enjoyed the run-up video.
The actual 'film' left me wanting much more. It appears there was a professional crew there, but the length of the video is quite limited – there has to be more excitement than that considering the the chaos of the cities. Share more about what happened along the way, the stress of beating the record by only 30 minutes – surely you could not have been so confident at the half-way point. The last few km are always interesting and that was missing.

  7. 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍🚴🏻‍♂️🚴🏻‍♂️🚴🏻‍♂️🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
