  1. I am extremely excited about these two. Danielson brings a lot by being a reliable right shot center. Knowing Danielson and Kasper is in the system gives me belief that the center core is ready. Sandin Pellika really impressed me. Great skater and was great in transitional plays. He’s also highly regarded by every coach from his youth teams and main team to the national sides.

One thing I am unconvinced about is top end offensive talent like someone that could be a 30-40 goal scorer but I hope I’m wrong

  2. Axel Sandin Pellika was someone I thought was going to go in the top 10 as my second best defender after Reinbacher. At 17th I am confident he will be a steal or at the very least a solid pick as a middle pair defender

  3. Danielson’s one of the most nhl caliber of the draft. He had an incredible two-way game. I hope to see more offense from him, but Brandon was bad and he led his team in points

  4. This talk from the media & fans is typical of what we get, just about every year. Sorry we didn't get Bedard! The off season is just starting. Trades & free agent signings will occur. Hopefully Detroit makes the right ones.

  5. This Draft by the Wings is an A for me , killed it , the D prospects in this organization is STACKED , like i mean STACKED and we got 2 of the top 10 goaltenders in the draft to add to the organization depth , very very happy , GO WINGS

  6. This is the last year I pay attention to any scouting/draft rankings. Everything after round 1 was a head scratcher. I’d rather not get overly invested and just echo the drones that get excited over anything the wings do and post the yzerplan laser beam eyes memes

  7. there are so many things we the fans cant know about, that only the teams can find out through extensive and expensive research. family problems, health problems, substance abuse problems, lack of ability to learn new skills, addictions, lack of motivation, etc will never be known by us. we have to except this. i was suprised by seider, but that worked out pretty well. i was hoping for stutz but raymond is pretty good as well. ed looks like a seider 2.0.

  8. and remember holland left the cubboard very very bare. we had no prospects that anyone even wanted. now that would not be the story. holland drafted some super duds as well.

  9. I really like your take on this, very sobering, and very honest. One idea that I've been considering the last 30 hours or so is: the United States National Development Team is right in Detroit's backyard, you'd think they know those guys better than anyone, yet they passed on a few of the USNDT's highest rated players (C Moore, RW Perreault, C Nelson) and went with Danielson who is clearly the best player on a very bad team. It makes me wonder if they see some of those USNDT guys as average players who benefit from having a stacked roster around them vs. a guy who plays great despite not having anything around him. Not trying to crap on the obviously great USNDT program, but it is an interesting theory.

  10. Definitely not the slightest but upset with Yzerman and crew. I know he looked at trade opportunities, but it just didn't materialize yet. Yzerman can wait out Ottawa and still make a DeBrincat trade on his terms or move on to something else… I'm very excited for this season as I think we have a better shot at a playoff slot even with no additional big moves.

  11. Thank you for saying it. I swear, people of this fan base never learn. They complained about Seider and look what happened there. Now this. Everyone thats complaining needs to shut up and just watch what happens.

  12. Not really a hot take here from me but one thing outsiders like us generally overlook is character. The scouting department does extensive background checks and interviews with the prospects and those around them. Go watch all the interviews from development camp, it seems all the young guys have a good head on their shoulders. The organization might be willing to miss out on a guy who may pot in a few more goals for someone who is a stable presence in the room and generally has a more pleasant demeanor. Obviously everyone is different and brings different things to the table, but if someone is going into the room and is a distraction and ticking everyone else off to the point that they are distracted from working as a team, are the goals really worth it? Too many words to describe something somewhat obvious, but team cohesion is what pushes you over the edge. In my opinion part of the reason teams like Seattle and Vegas are able to have success so early is the bond the new teammates share; they are thrown together and have a unified mission and something to prove. Getting guys who are self-motivated and driven to succeed while elevating their teammates goes a long way.

  13. Like the podcast, just found it this week and subscribed. But did you really just say what is the rush? We have been garbage for a decade after being the most consistent franchise in hockey for about 3 decades. We need to start moving forward.
