Tanner Pearson is preparing?….so you’re saying there’s a chance?!?!?!

Tanner Pearson is preparing for a return this season. Wow! I didn’t see that coming.

  1. if pearson can playnup to his ability, he should knock diguiseppe down to the 4th line. looks like dries will be back at 3c and blueger joining aman and joshua on the 4th line. imo that puts studnika and beauvillier out of the top 12. just my guess. when they find a couple of tough hard to play against wingers then boeser and garland are gone.

  2. Feel bad for the guy for sure but like dregs said in interview “highly unlikely” as he is skating but hasn’t even taken a shot or held a stick yet plus how he gonna use his hands to push off and get around guys in scrums with a weak hand… he already been through hell no point to rush him and make it even worse even if the player wants to play… I’m with you as well 15-20%… Go NuX Go…

  3. He was basically brought in because of his relationship and chemistry with Bo, and because he had one good year here with him. Even then, he was overpaid. Now, there’s a good chance he’s yet another cap anchor. Compared to the anchor Miller will be, not that bad, but still money that could have been spent elsewhere and now they’re over the cap and have to move a decent contract. Myers is still an option in September, but a team like Arizona, even with the $1 million in real dollars, isn’t going to take $6 million in cap without a sweetener. Pearson AND Mikheyev will be activated, so they’ll still need to clear cap, especially if they want to bring in a backup goalie. There’s no guarantee Silovs is ready for prime time.

  4. Tanner is a warrior for trying to make a comeback. but if I were him I would be focusing on my health and my family.

  5. Pearson is so overrated anyways. People Just pencil him in their minds as this stud middle six winger, but he's only been over 20 goals 2 times in his career and only played 82 games literally once. Apparently he's a great lockeroom guy but on the ice he couldnt be more replaceable

  6. Back in the day, Brian Burke would say, "A player will never lose his job due to injury…it'll be waiting for him when he comes back." Not sure if Allvin agrees with this or not. Anyways, whether Pearson returns or not, there is still a glut of wingers. Canucks need to identify teams weak on the left wing and see if they can swing a deal. To me, circumstances and details with Pearson's injury were really sketchy…the number of surgeries, the timeline for his recovery was continuously extended, Hughes calling out the team for bungling the surgery…just really odd. I hope Pearson can comeback and extend his career, but more importantly, his quality of life isn't hampered by this injury. If he makes it back, Pearson gets my vote for the Bill Masterton. Thanks Trev!

  7. We have to remember that not too long ago, the idea of a lawsuit was dangled over this whole situation. I'm sure that the Canucks head office would be desperate for him to play again, if only so they can say that their medical staff's negligence DID NOT end his career, making them not liable, or at least mitigating the payout. I think this is reminiscent of when Burke offered Moore a contract in Anaheim; it was a powerplay to say that you are not injured.

From Pearson's camp, he has to keep working out and otherwise staying in game shape, so that if it ends up that his hand isn't game ready, he can say that is what ended his career.

Or, I could be reading too much into this, and Pearson's previous medical prognosis was far too pessimistic…. but I doubt it.
