I really hope they resign Dunn and Borgen. Borgen is underrated and Dunn really showed his skill this year. I'd rather have both than Karlsson.
If Tarasenko is going to Carolina then one reason we haven't heard about it yet is because unless he's coming in for only $4 mil then we'll be hearing about a trade involving Carolina first to clear some cap space for him.
I'm glad Clague is back. He was pretty good when called upon for the Sabres and is good depth defenseman.
I’ll feel a lot better once Seattle gets Dunn locked up long term, hopefully in the 6.5 range
Dvorsky looks amazing. Literally looks like he could make a good bid for a roster spot this coming season for the Blues. But I don't think he'll be brought up till next year.
I really want Comtois and P Suter … are you hearing anything on either ?
Really happy with that contract for Fehervary and maybe most importantly he's still an RFA after it with arbitration rights as he'll still be 26. Only need to offer him just over 1m in qualifying offer too
Can i ask, what the hell is with expansion teams these days, compared to the past? I never remember expansion teams being so good so fast. (96 panthers were a flash in the pan) is it the cap? Has scouting gotten that much better? What’s the deal?!
Loving the 1920s style Canadiens jersey.
Habs fans have been praising the Hutson pick since the day he was drafted, we’ll see if he’s the real deal
This comment has nothing to do with this video:
As a huge fan of you THG I have to admit that in the offseason I tend to tune out. This year I am determined to watch every single video you put out from now until the beginning of the season to support you in the time of the year when your viewer count goes down. Hope you see this buddy! And Hope others see this and do the same!
Plus it will be nice going into next season being super familiar with each teams situation, and might hype me up even more for the season! Although i am a bruins and coyotes fan…oof.
As a blues fan I really hope Tarasenko goes to Ottawa and thrives, but I feel he could win another cup in Carolina. Either way I hope he does well! Also maybe Motte to the Blues if we are pushing for Playoffs.
Fantastic bottom six toward who can play both ways.
Just want to see where Tarasenko lands
the fact lane hutson was 5'8' and now is 5' 10' is why drafting a player because of their height can be pretty dumb because he is a kid he hasn't finished growing yet like he grew 2 inches in 1 year
Would rather have had Hagg back at $775-K than Clague. Even less offense than Bryson, NO physical element to his game.
Looked better than Bryson in his 33 games w/ Buffalo last year, but who doesn’t? Depth signing…WAY down the list.
Could overview goaltending situations for each team? I think there is interesting things at least in Buffalo (Levi and 2 other decent G), Nashville (Saros Out?), Washington (Capable goaltending?), Columbus (Back-up?)
Lane Hutson had an amazing year in his freshman year at college. He then played in the world championships and was definitely one of the better players on the US team. He looked great at development camp. I'm really interested in seeing him at rookie camp
I really like the Hagg signing by the Ducks. They were pushovers for the most part last year and adding more size and toughness is just going to help. Hagg with Gudas on the blue line is much needed in Anaheim.
Think the Canes are trying to trade either Pesce, Skjei or Teravainen and that's probably the hold up with Tarasenko. Tarasenko and Orlov are BFF's so I think it's in the bag, just waiting for another move to clear space and make the cap work.
Karlsson to the Kraken… I like that idea. Him, Dunn, McCann, Beniers, Burakovsky(!)- that’s a not-insignificant number of memorable names!
Seattle is definitely not Dunn yet
The Lane Hutson / Makar comparisons are interesting. Both smaller D, excellent skating, aggressive puck-movers.
MTL might be wise to let him return to NCAA for a full second season though. It worked for Cale who won a Calder, Norris and Stanley once he did step in to the NHL!
After all, if he goes back to BU, he'd be playing with Tom Wilander and the projected #1 draft pick for '24 in Celebrini
Tatar would be a decent LW replacement for DeBrincat OTT.
Does Karlsson want to go the Kraken though? Does he see them as a competitor?
Tarasenko. I want to see Him sign with My Rangers
Ugliest Montreal Canadiens sweater ever.
Great jersey. Don't remember seeing this one. Time for jersey review.
I root for Stalock wherever he goes, solid dude who is a gamer despite his lack of size.
Hoping Tatar goes to Ducks.
Bruins should grab Tatar for $1 or 2m for one year if there has been zero interest in him. Between he and JVR one of them should be able to be an okay #2 LW… Ugh.
Would Nylander to the Kraken be an option just thinking about it if the leafs would trade him. The idea of Nylander with the Kraken would be very interesting.
Boqvist is not a free agent though
the globe on that jersey goes so hard
Hudson is definitely top dman in the future and Mailloux will make the main team
I went to the first day of Habs development camp. Lane Hutson is hard to evaluate because he's CLEARLY better then everyone there.
Motte needs to sign somewhere so the Rangers can trade for him again
already watched this last night but i like to listen to THG in the morning 😀
Boston would be smart to sell on Ulmark ( but might have missed that chance) then add Stalock to play with a resigned Swayman. I’m kind of surprised there hasn’t been an offer sheet on one of Swayman or Samsonov as both teams are hurting against the cap
So Anaheim has 3 veteran Defensemen now in Fowler, Gudas, and Hagg. Drysdale should be healthy for this season. But the other two spots are open for a whole bunch of people to fight for. LaCombe got an early look last season, but MIntyukov and Zelwegger are likely ready for their rookie seasons. Vaakaninen, Hinds, and Helleson could all make a run at it too. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. And hopefully the ducks can have a solid defense again. It’s been too long.
Jones as backup for Vancouver – home town boy, and easily the best of that UFA's left. He could be had for $2Mill or under, I bet, on a 2 year deal, preparing for Silovs' eventual rise.
2.6 for our best defensive D is an absolutely steal!
I thought Tatar played pretty well for the Devils this year. He could help some team. He's the type of player the Islanders always seem to sign, so I expect to hear that he just signed a 7 year deal with them.
I GOT THE FEVER FOR MORE COWBELL!
Bruins/Kings should have been trade partners regarding Ullmark, but of course GM Rob Blake aint to keen on addressing goaltending. A bit weird considering Blake played in front the great Patrick Roy, when they both won 2 Cups together with the Avs. My thinking with Blake, he signed Talbot because he's been a better goalie in the playoffs, when healthy. But on paper, Martin Jones might have been another cheap signing that equates to a better regular season than Talbot/Rittich. The Kings still have a long term issue of having no #1 goalie…
I think a lot of teams in 5-10 years will regret not taking Hutson in the draft
Hutson that's something to be excited about GHG
0:03 might Toronto use any defenders from UFA notables available?
Tarasenko on a short deal to Detroit could make sense if the debrincat trade doesn’t happen and he isn’t getting any offers he likes. They obviously have 5 lines of NHL forwards already, but he would certainly be one of the 12 best if added, and we have injury insurance.
