  1. Kyle is too afraid to negotiate a deal man to man. He has to bring in somebody to do his dirty work. Shanahan brought Dubas in if I'm not mistaken, and they have worked together for years, but Kyle doesn't even sit down with Shanahan and has his representative reach out. I think this speaks volumes about Kyle's character. For fu@#$ sake, he didn't even phone Shanahan. He emails him after days of ghosting him. Who does that when they're negotiating a new deal. Kyle sounds like he's on the fence about even wanting the job( probably a negotiating tactic) and then acts like this. Who would have faith in someone who acts like this ? The first thing on my mind is what a bit@#. This is how some little weasel would act, this isn't how a man acts. Shanahan offered him a fair deal, but Kyle thought he deserved more. Personally, I don't think he is that great of a GM. All the best players were already there, and he didn't get them to the next level. Now, the team is in bad shape with the new Auston contract, and they're probably farther away from a cup than they were before Kyle took over.

  2. So what? The agents job is to get the most for its client. No good agent would tell their client to go elsewhere just because another client was let go, especially if if it means getting paid less to go.

  3. I don't see how it makes a difference. The leafs drafted Matthews and gave Dubas the opportunity of a lifetime. Leafs let Dubas go but will give Matthews the bag.

  4. After the way the Canadian government stuck its boots on its citizens neck during the 🦠 years, If I were an American player, I’d wanna run home too.

  5. Key here in this situation, SAME AGENCY a huge business with multiple agents. Dubas and Matthews have two different agents. Matthews Agent represents multiple star players in the NHL.

  6. Dangle is the epitome of the over reacting, sky is falling, tinfoil hatted, Leaf fan. Honestly if Matthews leaves because of Dubas, it can’t happen fast enough.

  7. Why do GM's need agents? Shouldn't they be able to negotiate their own contracts?

  8. Best thing they could do is get rid of Mathew’s, not a concern at all, they need the cap space and he is producing when it really counts. And they could use some grittier guys on the team that will pull there weight and serve well in the playoffs. The core 4 just take up way to much money and the team is lacking in so many places.

  9. It’s a conflict of interest to have the teams manager with an agent from the same firm, Dubas had to leave Toronto!!

  10. Well that conflict is resolved now, so let's hope BT can right the ship. Why his contract isn't done by now atleast a handshake is untenable. He's not the best player but he is great. So they're is contracts already out there to use as a guide line. If that's not sufficient then use this time to get the best trade possible. A numb 1 defenseman with term a big WInger or center if possible and 2 1st round picks and another in 2nd or third round.
