What’s Next For Kole Lind? From Kelowna Rockets Star To AHL Struggles (Vancouver Canucks Prospects)

Let’s talk some more about Vancouver Canucks prospects, this time focusing on the first of the Canucks 2nd round draft picks in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Kole Lind was an absolute beast for the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL, in his draft and draft+1 years, but coming into the Utica Comets last season under Trent Cull, suffered a season of tough transitioning.

  1. hey love your videos, you should do a video on what you think the lines for 2019 will be or you should make a vid on thatcher Demko if you need ideas

  2. Kole Lind looked like barely an ECHLer at times, he's likely a miss at this point. Anyone wanna name these fantastic prospects outside of the 1st round the Canucks have developed? Benning's record is deeply flawed.

25 points in his 2nd AHL years would be a big disappointment, most prospects who make it hit 40-50 points by that point and get called up. Not to mention Lind is a twig and his frame likely wont fill out that much more. He needs a miraculous bump up in his skating because hes more of a skill guy.

Contrast that with Gadjovich who although hes probably not gonna come close to his ceiling can atleast hit and grind away and play a bottom 6 role.

  3. CHL players who in their draft year put up about 1.2ppg in their draft year but dont possess any one skill that really stands out should be avoided.

i think that u really need at least one high end quality to crack the NHL

Lind was good at a lot of things but not great at anything… he was a bit bigger than his peers too which helped him produce more than he should have based on his skills alone

  4. major fail. if your development team only made two prospects better and one is gone. so only one player on the whole team is better. Utica is not for winning it is for feeding the NHL team better players, sole purpose. you can say Utica is hurting the Canucks. say you just let the players plays, you should get better just with more ice time, weight room and youtube level coaching. but everyone is getting worst?

  5. Why is it that every rookie that go's down to Utica they end up not doing so great!
I don't feel that Trent Cull is the right man for the job! Our rookies shouldn't be playing on the 4th line and killing peniltys and not getting a lotta ice time! Do some research on this and see what some rookies are saying

  6. The good news is we don't need any of the guys from Utica for a couple years so lots of time to develop them yet.

  7. Our AHL devleopment team is garbage we don’t kno how to give our star kids the spotlight ffs

  8. It's the AHL coach, think about it. Every prospect who has gone to Utica post Travis Greens tenure in Utica have struggled. They need to get rid of the coach and do d someone who can further develope the players and play them to their potential and strengths.

  9. There's a huge difference in talent against boys in the CHL compared to older players or men in the AHL or even college hockey where a lot of players are 22-24

  10. Lind is gonna be traded for another 2 way defensive plug just like what happened to Shinkaruk and Dahlen!

  11. Geez.. it was his first year as a pro and it takes time to adjust. Not everyone can be a Hughes, Pettersson, Boeser right out of the gate. What’s funny is that people are comparing the CHL to the AHL. You’re literally playing against kids the same age or younger as opposed to men who are all trying to prove themselves in the minors. It’s not a cake walk. Stop acting like the sky is falling
